An Example of how Earned media converges with and meets owned and paid media would be Nike Latest Air Max Day. The campaign was centered around celebrating the creation of one of the brands biggest selling model shoes the air max. Initially Nike teased the big event on their multiple social media sights, including Facebook, Instagram and twitter and the tag #kissmyairs #air max day, using their multiple social media platforms to engage with their existing consumer base, and through the use of the hashtag earning new followers and getting the topic trending on twitter and generating interest among shoe lovers in general (social earned). Once word Had got out and the desired level of interest had been gained, Nike revealed the new air max shoe in celebration of the big day, and launched it, using paid advertisements on a wide range of shoe sights and celebrity endorsements on Instagram and other platforms (paid media).
