Beyond the competencies mentioned, I think as a scrum master is to promote that safe environment for people to share within the team, not only in terms of their competencies but also in times of their lack so that the team can build a common understanding to still move along without anyone falling behind. But I just feel maybe the leaders can also be introduced to Scrum principles not via us but via a proper workshop so that they understand where we are coming from.

I think currently because we are all new to scrum, we are exploring and experimenting on the go. But at the same time, we need to meet the deliverables. The blockers are mostly time and people (deployment is not based on scrum, knowledge about scrum is spotty...) But i think Scrum is a good way to go. The MMs might need to be in it too for the scrum process to work.

The most difficult blockers to deal with are people with wrong mindsets and/or inaccurate perception of agile scrum (aka geh kiang). Practice is 1 way to get buy-in for sure but for the most close-minded people, hard to change them when they want to insist on their ways. Maybe we can have a "volunteer task-force" to do scrum to full fidelity then use as a showcase to the rest to "prove" that scrum CAN work. only if they believe.
