Work Placement Evaluation  

  1. Report 

8 - 10 pages including photos, diagrams to illustrate your working unit, process, materials, schedules, the plant, safety equipment, other things of interest. These can be in colour for the disk version, but black & white for the hard copy (paper) version.

2.  Oral Presentation  

 Pecha kucha (6 minutes 40 seconds + 5 minutes questions) based  only on what you did in the company including a short introduction and a conclusion.

Report - Contents

  1. Introduction (4 to 5 sentences) – Give your expectations, the objective of your internship and a very brief description of your main task in the company.

  2. Description of Company* (3 to 4 sentences) – 

  3. Name, location, size, activity.
  4. Customers, suppliers, competitors.

  1. Work experience
  2. A typical day as an operator
  3. Working conditions (Health and Safety, shifts, etc.)
  4. Team work (company tutor, workers , etc)
  5. Good and bad aspects

  1. Detailed description of the working unit: a production process or a machine, a production/assembly line, delivery process, etc.

  1. Conclusion – summarise main points, what you have achieved, etc.

On your placement:

  1. Take notes of the different processes you use or see around you during your placement. 

  2. Think about the modules covered in class:  communication styles across cultures, and ethics.

  • Include your observations of different cultural behavior (where relevant).
  • Give an account of an ethical issue you may have witnessed or been part of. 


Mark: 50% report, 50% oral presentation

Dates for submission of report and oral presentations to be decided after the start of the module.
