The author is Kelly Yang. The book Kelly made is about a girl and her parents moving to America from China. Her parents were struggling with money for a while so they got a job at a motel and they're boss treats them poorly. The main character, Mia is working at the front desk helping customers check in, check out, and give them anything they need. The book also shows friends Mia has at school, the drama happening with Jason, the boss's son, in class and more. It is Christmas eve and Greg's little brother Manny was having a temper tantrum about how his ornament that he like to put the Christmas tree was already on the tree so so they took the ornament off and he was still crying and then he wanted to put it on first so they took down the hole tree and then Manny put his ornament on.
