Charter schools enjoy greater flexibility compared to traditional public schools. Unlike public schools that are bound by the curriculum and standards set by the school district, charters operate independently under individual agreements with the state or local government. These agreements, or charters, outline specific rules and performance standards that must be met by the students attending the school. Neither schools have entrance exams, interviews, or auditions as part of their admission process. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that getting admission into a charter school is straightforward or effortless.

While everyone believes it is unjust that not all children have access to quality schools whereas every child is entitled to receive education from a good school, a real education reformer believes students achieve better outcomes in high-quality educational institutions, and it's important to hold all schools responsible for their performance. A real education reformer thinks that overall, our educational institutions have the potential to achieve better outcomes for all students, particularly those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Education reformers believe it's important to recognize that a uniform educational system may not work for everyone, and therefore we should adopt a diverse and inclusive approach to education.

Class will be split into two groups. One will represent the traditional education system, the other will represent Charter schools. They will both race to build a tower. Group 1 (traditional education system) will only get to use certain items and can only have one person from their group building, and that person can only use one hand. The other group members may talk to the person to guide them but can do nothing else. Group 2 (Charter schools) Can use whatever they can get their hands on, and as many of their group members that they decide to help build. There is a 10 minute time limit to see who can build the better and taller tower.
