This is shown when Lady Macbeth is trying to convince Macbeth to continue with their plans. She is encouraging him and seems to be taking control of the situation when she says, “But screw your courage to the sticking place And we’ll not fail. When Duncan is asleep [. . .] his two chamberlains will I with wine and wassail so convince that memory, the warder of the brain shall be a fume, and the receipt of reason a limbeck only” (1.7. 70-78).

“Methought I heard a voice cry, “Sleep no more!

Macbeth does murder sleep”—the innocent sleep,

Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care,

The death of each day’s life, sore labor’s bath,

Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,

Chief nourisher in life’s feast”

(Shakespeare 2.1. 45-50).

“What beast was’t, then, that made you break this enterprise to me? When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man.”

Lady Macbeth responds, “A foolish thought to say a sorry sight”(2.2. 28-29).  Macbeth’s empathy and Lady Macbeth’s response show his true ambitions and her effect on his actions. 

Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather

The multitudinous seas in incarnadine,

Making the green one red."

(2.2. 78-81) 

How is ’t with me when every noise appals me?

What hands are here? Ha! They pluck out mine eyes.

Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood

Macbeth wrote to Lady Macbeth explaining his encounter with the witches and their prophecies, suggesting the murder of King Duncan with a strong resolve. Even if Lady Macbeth is the mastermind behind the plan of killing Duncan, she is merely supporting Macbeth’s vision of becoming king, and making sure that his internal conflicts don’t stand in the way of ambition.

"When we have marked with blood those sleepy two" (1.7 83).

"My hands are of your color, but I shame/To wear a heart so white" (2.2 78-79).
