1. I think the fact that I was able to improve my academic writing was incredibly important to me. I have never been quite proud of my academic writing so I am happy that I was able to observe actual and meaningful improvements.

2. One other thing that was important to me was that I felt validation in the professional path I have chosen for myself. I graduated from college in 2019 and I wanted to go back to school for my licensure in 2020, taking this class reminded me that teaching is something I really do want to pursue, that I am perhaps a good fit for this profession.

3. This is going to be a strange one but one thing that was important to me was that I learned that I still have a lot of work to do in terms of improving my online academic skills. I am really bad at taking online courses and it was tough to get motivated and stay focused. There were many times I had to "burn" assignments in order to finish work for other classes. I still carry the guilt of not turning in some assignments or turning them in late. In a sense, this class, like all of my online classes, was a humbling experience by reminding me that I still have a lot to improve upon. I will take my shortcomings and failures from this semester and use them as a reflection tool if I ever go down the path of perpetual procrastination in the future, hopefully at least.

James Ryan Keller (✿ ͡❛ ͜ʖ ͡❛)

Another thing I think is important to me was how to section off papers and get the main part and of that section then move on rather than doing the paper all at once. This also improved my academic writing as a whole.

3. My final most important moment was learning that I need to work a little harder on my time management skills.

Abriana Lane

1. Being a teacher's kid definitely affected my perspective on education and the realities that teachers and students face, especially in Craven County. As a result, this was the most infuriating class content I've encountered. Learning to navigate through course material, especially a textbook, and the emotions that came with it was no easy task, but I did it.

2. For the first time in my school life, I was part of a great group. This experience has given me an example of what a group should be and how to be part of a good group.

3. I found my purpose for being a FACS teacher. Last semester, I hoped that FACS 2123 would give me a taste of what FCS was really like, but it was actually this class that helped me process everything and discover my motivation.

Olivia W.

1. I have never thought about the purposes of schools, and this class taught me like that. It was interesting to examine the different purposes of schools and think about what I thought was the most important purpose. It was a great way for me to start thinking about everything that encompasses education, besides teaching the curriculum.

2. This class also taught me the different philosophies of teaching, and what the ideas and beliefs of them are. This was every eye-opening for me, for my BTA paper, but also personally. The worksheet we did, should me how I believe and want my classroom philosophy to be.

3. This class taught me how to advocate for my students. This is crucial for me because I want to make sure all my students receive the best education possible. I also want to be the teacher who takes action against inequity.

Gracie Talbert

I found out how difficult it is to be a teacher in the US and how there are many factors in the classroom that affect how teachers teach their material for all to understand.

2. I learned how to advocate for others and be able to respect people who may not have it as easy as some of us. We need to be mindful of others and make sure we do treat others with respect.

3. I learned that I need to be more careful when I take online courses. I tend to rush through assignments and overlook things when I'm taking online courses because every online course is setup differently. I also learned that I need to make sure I prepare for other writing assignments earlier than two days before it is due and make sure other people read my work to make sure it sounds good.

Benjamin Wallace

By breaking it up into sections, it makes it easier to cover all topics and organize the essay better.
2. This class was my first education class, so I learned a lot about teaching in this course, most importantly, how to advocate for my students.
3. The most important skill I learned in this class was that I need to manage my time better. I truly believe I would have scored much higher if I had managed my time better, which is hard as a full time college students working 2 jobs, but I learned a lot about this in this class.

Lauren Millard

1. What was most important to me was learning the foundations. I learned about the history of the purpose of education. From human civilization only passing down traditions and culture as hunters and gatherers. To Egyptian scholars bringing in writing as the purpose of schools. Then Chinese culture makes morals and societal conformity a priority. There were many others but these caught my eye. I enjoyed reading and learning about them.
2. I liked learning about the philosophies that developed education. I realized that I have a progressivism view on education. I was able to relate to believing that children learn through experiences. Also agreeing with the belief that we should have child psychology knowledge to be able to create a nourishing environment for children.
3. I found it interesting learning about our last subject. I did not know about school funding until now. I liked learning about this subject because it helped me to understand how schools get their funds.

The most important part of this class...
1.Was probably our Becoming a Teacher Advocate paper. I feel like it really helped me to find something that needs to be changed in the public school system, and back up my opinion on why it should be changed. My topic was free preschool. We really should have that option for all students, so those who don't have the money for preschool get that chance to go. I feel like this paper really EXPANDed my knowledge on this topic. That is also why expand was the word I chose for this class.
2. Was learning more about the financial things that go on behind the public school, and how they have the money to fund these students. It makes me view the public school so differently, and be thankful for the money that is given. We could not have free schools, but they made it possible by using money from taxes.
3.
