With maria, it is another reason for Enrique to try harder and stay alive. She also helped him get through stuff at home when aunty would get mad at Enrique.
maria is driven to help Enrique and support him with everything he has to go through. She is one of the main reasons Enrique is doing what he is doing. She wants Enrique to find his mom almost as much as she wants him too.
