How long will it take?
4-6 years; it will take a minimum of 4 years to obtain the minimum requirements of becoming a Marketing Manager at the entry level which is a Bachelors in either Marketing, Advertising or Business Administration. However, if my goal is to be a higher ranking Marketing Manager, then pursuing a MBA in Marketing will be the ideal route which would take up to 2 or 3 more years after I receive my BA. Industries and competitive companies prefer Marketing Managers with a Master's rather than a BA.

Work experience: 4-6 years
There is a required work experience in this field. If I do internships while going to school this will compensate for my lack of job experiences and will help build me a stronger portfolio once I decided to step up in Marketing positions. While going to school and becoming a Marketing Assistant. it would take me roughly 3 years to build a reputation for myself especially being a part time employer. I already had some marketing experiences as a Marketing Assistant at 17 so I understand the time management involved.

Job training: 1-3 months
You need basic training in the Marketing work structure before landing the position.

AMA Certification: 6 months - 1 year
This is vital for me to show that I have professional certifications and exemplify those qualities for potential jobs. It's a course that I will need to study separately after I receive my basic qualifications for taking this test. I have 365 days after my approval to complete the exam.
