Since I was a child I knew that I love animals, in particular cats. In fact, when I turned 18, I started to visit an animal shelter as a volunteer with my mom.
During all these years I have learned a lot about abandoned animals and I have adopted some of them. So, in this Padlet I would like to share my knowledges and thoughts with you and introduce you to my doggy children.

Her birthday is on 9th July, nowadays she is 13 years old. Tina came to us through a friend of my mother's, who knew a guy that was giving away dogs. When we first met her, she was only 3 months old. She was so cute and tiny. Tina is a mix between pug and chihuahua breed, so she has an interesting appearance. 
Tina has a very calm character at home, but whenever I take her for a walk she barks at all the dogs of the park, she is a little loud, small but scandalous haha.

His birthday is on 15th November, nowadays he is 6 years old. My boyfriend and I found Foster on the road one day when we were going to Guadalajara for a walk. We took him and leave him in La Camada, the shelter I am volunteering since 2016. My mother and I sponsored him and started to take him for walks every week, so we ended up falling in love with that pretty face and adopted him.
We think that Foster is a mix between Podenco and Dachshund, this is why he has that funny ears. 
I mentioned before that he was dramatic because he makes a drama of everything and wants the affection only for him. At home we have other dogs and, whenever we pet the others, he gets angry and "stops talking" to us for a few minutes.

Her birthday is on 13th December, nowadays she is 4 years old. The story of Megui is very sad because she came from an illegal breeder in which they exploited dogs by making them have puppies that they later sold. Megui came with two tumors due to giving birth so much, and without vocal cords because the owner of that place cut them so that they would not make noise or bark and his cover was not discovered. Besides, that funny tongue that sticks out of her mouth is always like this because most of her teeth fell out due to a non-existent care of her and her tongue cannot stay inside her mouth anymore.
Nowadays Megui is a happy dog and has a healthy live. We have removed the tumors that she has and we have taken care of her dental health.
I said before that she is my craziest dog because she is a little weirdo. She is difficult to understand and she changes her mind a lot, maybe one day she loves to be around and the next day she prefers to be alone. Her birthday is on 10th August, nowadays he is 16 years old. Pepita came to us because my parents saw an ad in which someone was giving away Siamese cats due to an unwanted litter. She came to us when she was only 4 month old. 
Pepita is the most elegant cat I have ever met. She loves to be the queen of the house and she imposes a lot, she knows that she has to be the leader of the place as she lives around dogs.
Pepita has a very independent character, she likes to sunbathe during the morning and then sleep in the couch the whole afternoon. Then at night she comes to ask for some petting, but not too many time because she gets angry haha.
When she was young, she liked to play, but nowadays she is living her last years in a complete peace.

His birthday is on 12th October, nowadays he is 6 years old, like Foster. Dexter came to us from an unwanted litter of Pomeranias when he was only 3 month old.
Dexter is a very good dog who loves to play every single day with his teddies. Besides, every year my boyfriend and I go to Denia´s beach in Valencia, which has a section for dogs, and we take Dexter with us because he LOVES to go to the beach and play with the sand.
I have a special connection with Dexter because I feel that he always understands me and what I am saying to him, and he (in a way) replies to me by barking haha.

We think that Tutú is like 9-10 years old, but we do not know exactly, neither what breed he is.
For me, Tutú has a sad live because he practically was born in the shelter and he has always lived there. No one has ever noticed him and there have never been proposals to adopt him. However, as he had lived in the shelter all his life, he does not know other life, so I think that he is happy living there.
Tutú is a very very very affectionate dog, he loves to give hugs to everyone and loves to spread love everywhere he goes. His name is very funny because it comes from "ballet skirt", what is called "tutú de ballet" in Spanish, as he has like a crazy hair.

Lennon came to the shelter with only 6 months and grew there until he was a year and a half. One day, he was sent to Germany where a family awaited him with open arms to adopt him.

Burbuja was Tutú´s roommate in the shelter until one day, two years ago, a wonderful man came and adopted her. We used to take her out for a walk with Tutú.
Gala now lives a life of luxury, her new owner sends us photos of her and he is always traveling with her, in the park or in the pool. I remember that she loved to run after the pigeons in the park and her new owner tells us that she is still doing it.

Either for dogs like Megui who suffer a lot when giving birth to puppies or dogs like Tutu, Burbuja or Lennon, who have to live in prisons without having committed any crime.
Regardless of whether breeders are legal or illegal, in my opinion, trafficking and doing business with lives should be considered a serious crime. Animals also feel, suffer and have emotions, so it is very important to give everyone a chance and a happy ending.

How are you? When I looked at your Padlet and saw that it was about dogs I immediately loved it. Because of this, I decided to show you my beautiful boy, Chester. I have wanted a dog since I was little because, as I am an only child, I have always felt kind of alone between all the adults in my family. Even if I kept insisting, my parents thought that I wasn´t responsible enough to deal with all the cares that a dog needs. It wasn´t until I was thirteen that they finally allowed me to get a dog. We went to a dog shop (yes, I know, I still regret that) and we saw that every single dog looked healthy and clean except for Chester. He looked so little and thin, and I immediately felt sympathy for him. I always think of that moment as love as first sight. When we arrived home, we were a little bit confused about what would be an appropiate name for him, but after thinking for a while we all agree on the fact that he looked like a Chester. 

Right now he´s eight years old, but he´s as energetic and playful as he was when he was little. He likes doing long walks and playing with other dogs in the park. In fact, one of his friends, Toby, lives nearby and they see each other mostly everyday. He´s quite a spoiled dog because my parents and I treat him like a child, but he deserves it. Podencos are usually mistreated when they are no longer useful for hunting or hunters have enough dogs. I found her on the road, near my house. I picked her up, feeling hopeful that she could stay in some rescue center since my parents had never allowed me to have a dog. Luckily, after she spent at home a few days my sister and I could convince my dad to keep her at home. We adopted him when he was only a few months old, and he is now 6 years old! We don't really know what race he is because he is very mixed, but he resembles a Podenco and we believe his parents were a Podenco and a Border Collie, so...
As sad as it is, they were going to sacrifice him and his brothers and sisters if they didn't find a home, a practice that sadly is common in small villages still... happily he found his forever home with us! He is the best dog ever and capable of making you smile even if you are sad. 
I don't even know how, but he is so expressive and smart, he knows if something is going on or not and when he notices he always tries to make you happy by bringing you any of his toys. He is such a joy, I wish everyone could meet him. He loves people and other pets as well, although he is so energetic he sometimes scares other dogs haha.
