The speaker persuades the audience by adding examples such as "An HP report shows that women only apply when they meet 100 percent of the qualification, men apply when they meet 60." This helps show that because girls are taught to be perfect it limits what they can truly do, because of the fear of failing or not being good enough.

I agree to an extent with Reshma Saujani's claim. Females are simply not raised as rough as boys. Boys will fight and make messes and the saying goes "boys will be boys." Girls are raised to be polite and get good grades. When girls play rough, they're tomboys. Why can't a males and females actions be treated equally? On the other hand, girls can take control over their future. You can be brave, take action for yourself. Failure is a sure thing, no one is perfect. I agree with the quote "We're taught to smile pretty, play it safe, get all A's. Boys, on the other hand, are taught to play rough, swing high, crawl to the top of the monkey bars and then just jump off headfirst." The women in my family are all smart and most are nurses. They often feel pressured to do good, get all A's in school. Everyone one of my mom's daughters have been invited into the National Honor Society. The boys, on the other hand, fail a few classes and are okay with it. They take risks and push boundaries the girls would never dare. Reshma Saujani's claim is correct, but has flaws because categorizing females as a whole is incorrect. There are little girls now who strive to be invited to a STEM school, something that girls usually do not try for. There are female politicians and race car drivers. Some girls, females, women do take risks; but, those who don't need a little push.
