Rome grew to be a large empire. During Pax Romana, literally meaning Roman Peace; the economy, peace, arts, and tech thrived. Several contributions to our modern day society were made here, although many more took place outside of it as well! Rome took in so many different backgrounds when it expanded so greatly(refer to image) and were mostly culturally tolerant- which allowed great ideas to flourish.

This architecture contributes to our knowledge of understanding rome and is a tourist destination.

Written laws(12 tables), the senate, justice systems and meetings have shaped our society which is similar in America. We have a senate with meetings, the US constitution and US code of laws(similar to 12 tables), and justice systems with juries. Their system to being a republic is very similar to ours.
