Basic spelling vocabulary for writing

I chose this list becasue it has 850 words on it. It can be used for all students and even goes into second grade words for advanced students. This list could be a reference for students when they are writing or trying to spell words. It can also be used to help students increase their vocabulary.

Sentence Starters

It's Okay to Be Different

I chose this book because it shows what children think differences look like. After reading this book I would have my class draw their own pictures and create our own class's version of It's Okay to Be Different.

I like this website because students don't even know they are learning, they play puzzles and play a version of Minecraft where they are adding to their adventure based on points they get in the learning games. This is good for ELL students because it can be done at individual's levels.

This website has so many books that children can listen to, it also has the words on the screen that highlight as the reader is reading out loud. I chose this website for the diversity of books but also the level of readers that are on it to help any age child read better. The books can also be read in different languages, so my English only students can dabble in other languages also making a more inclusive classroom for all.

All of these resources on my wall were picked to help all my students with their individual needs in mind. Each one of these resources offer my students to be independent while also honoring their culture and language. Some of the items picked are books that show diversity while other resources are tools that can help my students becoming better readers and writers.
