The concept of the project is Revolution. The final product will be performed in a intermate studio space, with visuals of dancers and created objects by the theatre students.
This first session consisted of the company meeting the Wimbledon students and memembers who are assisting the project. This was a very useful session as it's was the introduction of sharing ideas, themes and choosing groups to collaborate with. The production manager shared his role and his expectations of recieving the four choreographers proposals on the deadline and the designers proposals also. There where various mentors who had expertise in designing clothes for various famous dance works, who spoke on their experiences and evidenced them, via PowerPoint presentation.  This initially opened up ideas for the designers on expanding creativity and thinking beyond expected. Before discovering The Place production team had access to the sand, lots of discussions took place in terms of possible materials that can  cover the floor. I assisted her with creating movement material around the fixtures in the photo. in which I helped with as the members of her group were absent at this rehearsal.  In relation to the essay aims, the examples stated above provide evidence to the role I displayed whilst mentoring the Shift Youth dancers. This went accordingly, as the chorographer was pleased with the material produced and kept it within the piece. The Metal fixtures within the pictures were created by the Design students.

This piece was a unique blend of vouge and contemporary dance style, making reference to vintage materials, which I suggest combined well together. i assisted with movement mateial, providing the dancers with a diverse range of vouge poses that could use and develop.
