He happens to be with Vee through everything and is the one who helps her begin playing the game in the first place. While Tommy is upset when Vee decides to continue playing Nerve he still continues to watch her as she proceeds in order to ensure that she's safe. Nerve seems to be slowly pulling her morals apart along with the other player's who she's pitted up against. Once Vee almost destroys her relationship with  her best friend she feels that there isn't anything worse that the game could make her do. But sadly she is very wrong.

An external conflict that Vee faces is Nerve the game its self. She has only been playing for a few days but the stakes already become almost too high for Vee to handle on her own. The program that Nerve uses on her phone instantly blocks her from contacting anyone who is watching or playing the game around her. It has a very interesting plot and the story becomes more twisted each chapter and it is a very difficult book to put down. I would have given this book a 10 if the final round of the game didn't draw on for as long as it did.
