I am still thinking about the water shortages in so many places around the world. Reading this book gave me a glance of life without clean water, and it sure is tough. A huge percentage of the world's population has to struggle with these circumstances on a day to day basis, and it really shows how strong they are inside.

Something that really stuck to me is how much perseverance the Lost Kids, and pretty much anyone with the lack of resources like clean water, show. Life is really tough living in circumstances like them, and how they are able to push through it is truly inspiring.

Being based off of a real story, this book depicts probably hundreds of millions of peoples' lives around the world. Countless lives have to struggle everyday with the consequences of war and lack of water, just like Salva and Nya, but they push through, and still get over even the craziest, most unfortunate circumstances.

I can connect with Salva and his experience in America. Though me moving house may not have been as drastic as moving halfway across the world, I still had to orient myself with my new surroundings, and the new people that I would go to school with, play with, and interact with. It took time, but in the end I was able to get through it, just like Salva.
