Train up your Earth Guardian - they are last in the line everytime you leave the class for assembly/pe/break time etc.

They turn off the iwb, the lights and they close the door (in winter).

They tell you when your battery is full on your laptop or when it is getting low.

Maths extensions

In Y6, we no longer print maths extensions/ challenges. We display them on the whiteboard and keep a couple of iPads handy for the children to take a photo and upload to Seesaw.

When teaching, either turn half or all of the lights off
Turn off laptop charger when battery is full
Reusing backing paper on displays where possible (when only been up for 5 weeks)
Challenges on the whiteboard rather than printing them
Earth guardians at the back of the line to close corridor doors behind them

Already having discussions about not wasting paper. Through lessons, been out in the grounds talking about saving trees etc. Taught strategies to transfer at home.

Y1 - use reusable dry Erase pockets.

From now on:

Making sure electrical items are turned off - set up earth guardians to monitor laptops, IWBs, turning lights off, shutting the door.

When using the outdoor areas, pull door to.

Year groups to share resources especially for foundation subjects I.e. photocopy sheets 1 between 2 then pass on to other year group class because being taught at different times.

Ensure own laptop is set to black/white.
