I used to think mental was either found in sand. I didn't know it was made. Isn't it like gold?

I though rubber wouldn't be buoyant, I just thought it would sink.

I liked learning about absorbency, especially fabric, i now understand that when i spill something and you need to grab something fast it's best to grab something fabric like a towel.

After learning about materials i now like to try and invent things, or should i say my inventions (because i have always been inventing) are better designed because I know what materials to use to design them like say i needed something to float like a car/boat, i can use the right materials... I'm not going to make it out of clay!

I liked learning that clay starts off soft and squishy (malleable) and then when it dries it goes hard, i understand why they make plates and cups out of clay now.

It seems silly to think of clothes made out of rocks and metal doesn't it, that's why we use fabric because its soft and comfortable and it can also be colorful and pretty.

I was surprised that sponges soak up things, after experimenting on a sponge i noticed all the tiny holes in it that i guess the liquid goes in there.

I never knew metal was made from rocks, My Dad got me a rocks book which is so cool so now i can learn about all sorts of rocks and metals and gem stones.

My big brother is learning about forces in year 3 and i taught him about magnetism last night at dinner and he said I'm knowledgeable!

It was interesting to learn that some coins (metals) are not magnetic, i thought all metals would be magnetic.

oil and water are both liquids but they have different properties i think.

Recycling is fun its like a sorting game but you are helping the world.

My family recycles at home, I've seen these different signs on the bins in the street you can use them to know what things can be recycled where. I know now that it is because of the material they are made from.

I don't really like picking up trash because its dirty and stinky but i know it is a good thing to do so im excited to go on our litter pick.

There is a lot of plastic in the park today, it looks like they are broken sledges from children playing in the snow. Don't they know that plastic is recyclable. all they need to do is pick it up and put it in the recycling.

Ava was such a great communicator in the assembly, she's usually pretty quiet but she used a presentation voice when talking didn't you Ava.

Ava: Yes i think I'm a better communicator now I cn use my voice at different volumes!

Being a communicator is not just about talking, its about listening too.

I think we are all inquirers, this unit has taught us to ask lots of questions and then try to find the answers, its good to wonder things and ask questions - that's being a thinker.
