Source 5 tell me that " the British held a meeting with the Japan to gave up Singapore as they lost the war thus surrender but because of that decision many locals suffer greatly". 
Source 4 support the point as it show " who ever is considered as a spy will be captured and will be tortured".
This show many teenagers were mercilessly tortured to death just because of some insufficient evidence to prove them as spy.
Thus teenagers future were destroyed due to some childish act and showing what hardship the teenagers faced.


During the Japan occupation, discrimination was frequently seen. The Malay and the Indian were both favor but for the Chinese they have go under hardship like to see their love ones getting killed just because they are Chinese.
Source 3 tell me that " the Japan has a grudge against the Chinese because of the lost battle they fought with China thus hating all those who are Chinese ", source 1 supports the point as it show " bodies lying on the ground most of them are Chinese"
The Chinese have to suffer terrible treatment from the Japan soldier and they can't do anything about it.
Thus the Chinese race was treated the most worst way but the Malay and the Indian was treated better.

 source(1)supports the source as it "tells me that during the Japanese occupation alot teenagers were killed and some also died by other reasons and they also was starving very badly". as you can see in source(1) in the picture the teenagers got alot of disease which led them to be dead and they also did not have enough food so they had to depend on every scant ration supplied by the government.
 
 Before the Japanese occupation people did not have to get screened and they also did not have to suffer from the soldiers and live under their control and after the Japanese occupation they had alot more freedom and they did not suffer 
 
 source(5) supports the this source "as tells me that during the Japanese occupation everyone had to get screened"as you can see in source(5)that everyone had to get screened and sometimes the process colud take them 3 days or sometimes even one week and they wolud get a

Source 1 also tells me that Japanese was taught in all schools. 
Source 5 also supports the point as it tells me that the Japanese also tried to cultivate a sense of Asian consciousness and pride to the public.
Thus the teenagers during the Japanese occupation had to learn Japanese.
During the British rule and the Japanese Occupation there was education present. As a result, the lives of the teenagers did not change much in terms of education.

Before the Japanese occupation, teenagers didn'to had a hard life. Source 1 "Tells me that during the Japanese occupation,after the raid and the Attack on Singapore had caused injuries to teenagers and mad them lose their homes as a matter of fact most people including teenagers became homeless as their homes were destroyed throughout bombing . Dead bodies were lying around which had diseases level were high which caused wounded people to have their flesh peeled off and getting infected. Thus Not 
having a roof to live under teenagers had to cramp in rooms to sleep  or sleep roofless  which had caused them to get sick easily.
Source 2 tells me that during JO students whom were studying in schools had to change their education to a combination of Japanese and English as the Japanese were short handed of textbooks to learn the students learn better.some students were even forced to change schools and go to Japanese schools . All students were taught to learn the Japanese national anthem and were to sing it every morning as a routine.
Source 3 tells me that during JO food prices went up from about 3 cents to a $100. And teenagers  had to queue up for hours to wait for their food and their food depended on the rations the person wanted to gave.
Source 4 tells me that during jo,Teenagers had a poor diet as they didn't have much nutrients to have and were having insufficient meals. Survey meals were taken and each religion had a suited diet food that was set.
