My Family’s Independence Day

August is a special and festive month for all Indonesians. It's a time when the whole country celebrates its freedom with a spirit of joy and togetherness. In my village, Argopeni Indah, my family and I had a great time celebrating Indonesia's Independence Day by participating in many fun events with our neighbors to honor our country's freedom.

First, my family and I joined a fun walk with our neighbors. We walked through several villages around ours. It was a beautiful day, and we all had to bring gifts for a door prize drawing. After the walk, we all gathered to draw the prizes. My family was so lucky because we won three prizes! Later, there was a singing competition, and many people from our village sang their favorite songs. The whole day was filled with laughter and happy faces.

Next, in the second week, there was an Independence Day ceremony. Most of the people who led the ceremony were retired parents from our neighborhood, so it felt like a big family event. Sadly, I could not attend the ceremony in my village because I had to go to my school's ceremony. The participants and leaders had to wear special traditional clothes. The women wore beautiful kebaya, and the men wore nice suits. After the ceremony, there was a fashion show. My dad decided to join, and he looked so handsome in his suit! We were all so proud when he was announced as the third-place winner in the fashion show contest.

After that, we had a special event called tasyakuran. All the villagers came together to celebrate and give thanks. The event included giving out prizes to all the winners from the competitions we had that month. There was also a lot of delicious food, and everyone ate together. This event reminded us all to be grateful for the freedom we have today, which was fought for by Indonesian heroes. Unfortunately, I could not go to this event either because I was not feeling well.

Overall, my family and I felt very happy about the celebrations, especially my dad, who won a prize. Even though I was sad I could not join all the events, I still had a great time celebrating. I really hope I can participate in all of the events next year!

Our Experience on Independence Day 2025

Independence Day was celebrated on August 17th to remember the struggle of the heroes and to celebrate Indonesia’s freedom. It was also a moment to strengthen unity, love for the country, and the role of young people in building the nation’s future. This year, Aulia celebrated in Asli Permai housing complex, while Azura celebrated in Ngaglik village. We joined many fun activities during August.

In the first week, on August 3rd, Aulia joined a fun walk from Asli Permai to the Prosecutor’s Office, passing through Ngasinan, and back again. She was very happy because she won two prizes, a set of cutlery and a soup bowl.

In the second week, on August 10th, Azura joined a fun walk from Ngaglik to Brokoh and back. On the way, she took a hidden shortcut. It was very exciting because she found a new route that she had never used before.

In the third week, on August 15th, Azura joined a fashion creation competition that used recycled materials. The event was held at night and many people joined and watched. Two days later, on August 17th, Aulia became a ceremony officer at school, while Azura joined the ceremony in her village. In the afternoon, we both attended the ceremony at the town square with our seniors. We were very proud to see the flag-raising team who looked united, disciplined, and full of spirit.

In the fourth week, on August 18th, Azura joined gymnastics at the Ngaglik field together with all the villagers. She felt happy because she got two packs of tissue as a prize.

In the fifth week, on August 29th, Aulia performed the traditional dance Nandak Ganjen in an art performance. She represented her neighborhood association (RT). She was delighted because many people watched and gave their appreciation.

All of these activities were very enjoyable and gave us many good memories. Even though our activities were different, they were all fun. We were very excited and we could not wait to celebrate Independence Day again next year !

I was happy to be able to participate, although I still felt a little embarrassed about it. Nevertheless, I was determined to join in.

My neighborhood association decided that the women would wear kutu baru kebaya, while the men would wear Indonesian-patterned shirts and jeans. When I was choosing my size, I made a mistake and gave the parade committee a size that was too large for me. It was quite worrying because the committee didn't have any other options at the time, so I ended up borrowing my relative's kebaya.

On the morning of the parade, I felt nervous about my performance. However, my mother and father reassured me that I could do it. I started applying my makeup at dawn and soon finished my preparations. After that, I began to gather with the other residents.

The weather on the day of the parade was very sunny, and the air felt fresh. Crowds of people lined the streets, eagerly awaiting the performances from each neighborhood. The residents started walking and showcasing their performances to the audience. The sounds of shouting and laughter added to the excitement, and the music from the speakers made the atmosphere even more lively. After walking around the village twice, I finally rested and ate at the Arjuna Temple complex.

After participating in the parade, I felt that I had gained a valuable experience during my teenage years. I felt happy when I saw the audience laughing at the performances that the residents, including me, displayed. Not only that, but the parade also provided knowledge about Indonesia that many people may not have known, which was shown through the work and costumes of the participants. This parade is one of the most memorable experiences for me to this day.

Celebrating Independence day Together

Every year, our village celebrates Indonesian Independence Day on August 17th with great enthusiasm, filled with laughter, music, and a sense of community. We are all very excited to celebrate this precious day, a day where we remember and honor the heroes who fought and sacrificed their lives for the independence of the Indonesian nation. This year, my village, Leksono, organized several activities to celebrate August 17th.

On the first day of the celebration, our village held several competitions, including volleyball for the fathers, cracker eating, putting a nail into a bottle, blowing a ping-pong ball, a face biscuit race, and a sarong relay. I joined two of the competitions: the ping-pong ball blowing race and the sarong relay. Unfortunately, my team lost the sarong relay; we were slower than the other teams. It was quite disappointing because my team had tried so hard in that race. However, I managed to get second place in the ping-pong ball blowing race. I felt happy and more enthusiastic to participate in other competitions.

The next day, there were several other competitions, namely sack racing, water relay, glass blowing, putting water into a bottle, and the balloon dance. Unfortunately, I couldn't join these competitions because I was assigned the task of helping to wrap prizes and door prizes. At first, I felt sad because I couldn't join the competitions like the day before. But after we finished wrapping the door prizes, Pak RT (the head of the neighborhood) treated us to some "es dawet" (a traditional Indonesian dessert). The fatigue from wrapping the door prizes was well worth it.

A few days later, right on August 17th, my school friends and I participated in the flag-lowering ceremony at Wonosobo Square. After the ceremony, one of my friends and I practiced being the masters of ceremonies because we were chosen to host our village's thanksgiving event, which would be held on August 18th. I felt very nervous because this was my first experience as an MC.

On August 18th, all the villagers gathered at the neighborhood hall, where the thanksgiving event took place. The event featured Ustadz Diah Sukron Zaidi and started after the Isha prayer. Thank goodness the event went smoothly without any obstacles, and it concluded with a communal dinner.

The last event was a health walk. It was held on Sunday, August 24th, with villagers gathering at the village intersection. After the walk, everyone gathered at the volleyball court for the raffle drawing and the announcement of competition winners. I received a set of pink lunch boxes as my prize. However, I couldn't attend this health walk because I chose to finish my school assignments that day. So, my mom represented me to receive the competition prize. Although I didn't participate in all the events, I still had a valuable experience that I will remember forever. I hope I can still participate in the August 17th celebration next year!

Story on the 80th indenpendence day

August is a special month for all Indonesians. Every year, people from various regions celebrate Indonesian Independence Day with great enthusiasm and joy. A variety of activities, competitions, and art performances are held to strengthen unity while commemorating the struggle of our heroes. A festive and communal atmosphere can be felt in every village, including in Rowopeni Village.

On the first day, August 9, Rowopeni Village held a competition to commemorate Independence Day. Initially, the mothers' competition was held at the Rowopeni Village field, but it suddenly started to rain. Because of the rain, the committee moved the activity to the village hall. Many mothers participated in the competition, and it was won by a contestant who made it to the final round.

After the first day, the second day, August 10, followed. The event began with a leisurely walk joined by local residents. The residents gathered at the field around 6:30 AM. After everyone had gathered, the walk started from the Rowopeni Village field towards the town square and then back to the field again. After finishing, the residents gathered once more. The mothers did aerobics together, while the fathers were encouraged to eat first. After the aerobics session was over, the mothers and children took turns getting food. During the mealtime, the committee also handed out door prizes. The event then continued with various competitions for children and fathers, which residents enthusiastically and happily participated in.

On the night of August 16, Rowopeni Village held a thanksgiving event to celebrate and show gratitude for Indonesian Independence Day. The event began with singing the Indonesian national anthem, followed by the recitation of holy verses from the Qur'an, a youth choir performance, the cutting of a tumpeng (a traditional cone-shaped rice dish), and a sermon from a cleric. During the event, the committee also handed out door prizes. The entire series of events went smoothly without any obstacles.

The last day or the peak of the event was on the night of August 17, with an art performance. The art performance was participated by every neighborhood association (RT), who were required to send an act. The children performed dances, while the fathers and mothers performed a choir. Not to be forgotten, door prizes were also handed out during the event. All residents followed the event with great joy. Thus, the series of Independence Day commemorations in Rowopeni Village came to an end.

The festivities kicked off on August 13th with a marble race, where my friends, young and old, competed in two groups: one for kids and another for teens and seniors combined. We had a blast cheering each other on and laughing together.

The next day, August 14th, we had another competition, which started with a communal meal. The kids went first, and the moms were thrilled to see a singing station added to the event, which really brought the energy up.

On August 15th, we all took part in a water relay race. The teams were made up of four members each, with kids and teens teaming up since there weren't enough kids to form separate teams. Just as the race was heating up, it started to rain, so we took temporary shelter. Once the rain let up, we resumed the race and wrapped up in the afternoon. Since it was getting late, we decided to call it a day.

The following day, August 16th, we organized a fun walk. Everyone dressed up in red and white, decorated their cheeks with stickers, and brought coupons for a chance to win prizes. After the walk, we enjoyed a meal together and had a great time joking around.

Finally, on August 17th, we awarded prizes to the competition winners and enjoyed an evening of dance and singing performances, complete with snacks. Overall, the Independence Day celebrations were a huge success, and we can't wait to do even more next year to celebrate Indonesia's independence

One of the most exciting competitions was the water relay itself. 1) The water relay was a team competition. 2) One participant in the lead took a turn at a place that had been provided with a plastic cup tied to their head. That day, the sun shone brightly, and the field where the competition was held was filled with villagers.

record of events
When it was our team's turn, we got ready to take the plastic cup that had been provided by the committee. The whistle sounded, and we started this race with joy. The bucket on the other team had collected quite a lot of liquid, while our team only got a little bit. But suddenly the group that had just won fell and the water spilled. At that time, our team finally took advantage of the opportunity by running carefully and not nervously.
Finally, our team's water was full first, and we won the race by getting 1st place.

comment
That day was one of the most challenging races of this year's August 17th competition. Through that competition, I learned that teamwork, self-confidence, and a firm resolve can overcome any challenge. It’s not just about the team, but also about having self-confidence, being careful and not reckless, and sticking together when the odds seem impossible. Winning the water relay was an incredible reward and a testament to the teamwork my friends and I built.

Indonesian Independence Day Celebration At Permata Hijau

During the celebration of Indonesian Independence Day yesterday, my residential area, Permata Hijau, took part in the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations, which were held from Friday, August 8th, to Sunday, August 10th. Residents of all ages, from young children to the elderly, were excited to participate in the fun and festivities. We enlivened the occasion by joined in various competitions, including coloring, fun games, mini chef contests, and the Permata Idol Performance. There were also traditional games like duck catching, balloon throwing, cone soccer, volleyball, badminton, and futsal. Unfortunately, I didn't take part in the neighborhood competitions because I had already entered a contest at school.

The festivities kicked off on Friday, August 8th, at 1:00 PM with the coloring, fun games, Permata Idol Performance, and mini chef competitions. These activities strengthened the sense of togetherness and family among the neighbors. On Saturday, August 9th, also starting at 1:00 PM, the competitions continued with volleyball, badminton, and futsal. The cheers from the spectators boosted the participants' spirits. The final day of competitions took place on Sunday, August 10th, at 7:00 AM. This day featured duck catching, shirt-wearing balloon throwing, and cone soccer, followed by the final matches for badminton and volleyball at 1:00 PM. The day brought about laughter, unity, and joy.

The celebration resumed the following week with the "Mini Carnival" on Sunday, August 24th, at 7:00 AM. This closing event involved all residents dressing up in costumes based on their neighborhood's agreed-upon theme. Our neighborhood unit chose 80s-themed costumes. We began with a casual walk, then watched a decorated bicycle exhibition, followed by a healthy aerobics session led by the winners of the creative aerobics competition. After that, we shared breakfast together while enjoying the entertainment stage. We also received prizes for the competition winners and door prizes from our lucky draw numbers. My neighborhood unit achieved first place in the badminton and mini chef contests and second place in volleyball, cone soccer, and shirt-wearing balloon throwing. I was fortunate to win a bicycle door prize. The event wrapped up with a very engaging and entertaining Permata Idol Performance winner.

The spirit of unity, the cheers of victory, and the smiles of joy from all the residents showed that independence is not just about competitions but also about the unity and happiness we experienced together. This year's Independence Day proved the residents' outstanding spirit of cooperation, strengthened fraternity, and nurtured nationalism.

Last month, on August 17th, my neighborhood held a big celebration to commemorate Indonesia’s Independence Day. Everyone was very enthusiastic and participated in the activities.

In the afternoon, we, the 8th and 9th grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Wonosobo, attended the flag-lowering ceremony at Wonosobo town square. All students and teachers stood proudly while singing the national anthem. After that, we went home. In the evening, there were many fun games in my neighborhood such as sack race, cracker-eating contest, and tug of war. I joined the sack race with my friends. Although I fell down once, I laughed a lot and felt very happy. My team also joined the tug of war and we won the game.

Then, on August 24th, my village held a carnival around the neighborhood. People wore traditional clothes and decorated their bicycles. That day was truly joyful. The competitions made me proud to be Indonesian and reminded me of the struggle of the heroes. I hope that next year’s Independence Day celebration will be even more festive.

Besides the carnival, the residents also held art performances. Children performed traditional dances on a small stage, while the teenagers played music and sang patriotic songs. Many parents proudly watched their children, and the atmosphere was full of happiness and togetherness. It was so beautiful to see how culture and nationalism blended in this celebration.
