I notice that since 2012 our graduation rate has increased from 61% to 83%.

I notice that the percentage of student fails has a way of increasing and decreasing without a discernible pattern. Perhaps it's a reflection of the nature of those particular cohorts? We often say things like, "This is a challenging 'class'" (by 'class' we of course mean the specific cohort).

I notice that the only grades that have remained constant over the years are As, Bs, and Cs.

I notice that most students believe that the adults here at LAHSA want them to go to college.

I notice that the cohort graduation rate from 2012-2016 increased! by a lot!
-and a lot of F's
-English learners and Sped, and enrollment have grown in number
-Number of students reclassified decreased (is this relative to increased F's and D's? or we're just getting more and more level 1 over time?

Graduation rate is undeniably increasing, bravo LAHSA.
The number of F's that students are earning rose last year, though perhaps it is an outlier, the larger trend seems to be going down.
In all three categories of English Learner, our numbers have risen with the most significant increase in recent arrivals (i.e. 3 years or less).

I notice that our 2016-2017 EL population with less than 3 years of English has increased by 12.9% since 2012-13. In raw numbers we have gone from 19 ELs to 42 students. There is a 1.9% increase in population for students with 4 years of English.

This explains why we have had to open a new ELD course to meet the varying needs of students at different levels. Language supports for general education teachers who have EL students in their courses is an area of need.

Special ed: the numbers are correct in total, but the special day number in the program is should be 15 instead of 55. RSP 32 and SDP 23.
I also notice how in population of students in general and special ed. has increased from 2012 - 2017.

I notice that our population of learners has become more and more diverse, as enrollment in most of specified fields have increased.

This highlights the importance of differentiation & modification, since our student population is not homogeneous and therefore don't all learn the same way.

-Enrollment is increasing.
-The LTEL population is decreasing.
-Significant increase in the last year of SDP students? (issue w/ data).
-Graduation rate is steadily increasing.
-However, the % of students receiving D's or F's increased last year. The % of these grades seems to fluctuate over the years.

Conversation about self efficacy is a starting point for many underperformance concerns we have. How students feel about themselves relates to performance.

I noticed that in the school experience survey there are some things that students have answered where we as a school scored higher than the district average. For example: In Self Efficacy: B(+4%), C(+4%) D (+1%) and overall efficacy (by 2%). In Future Orientation: B (+2%), D (+6%), E &F (+8%), G (+11%), and overall by +5%.

If I was reading this as a parent, The future orientation part of this survey would make me feel good about the the college going culture at the school.

I noticethat Els are becoming huge in number. Our graduation rate is increasing except 2013. Grades' rates are between 30% to 20 % for As, Bs, Cs and Fs are lots( Fall 2017).
Our school population increased.

I notice that the SPED population has increased about 5% (from 8% in 2012 to 13% in 2017-18)

Reclassification rate dropped from 17-11%, Overall enrollment increased, Graduation rate increased from 61-83%

Balmer: I noticed that enrollment and the graduation rate increased. Reclassification rate had dropped due to more EL students under 3 years.

The number of ELD students increased from 89 to 107 from 15-16 to 16-17.

The rate of reclassification decreased approximately 13%.
