a lesson I learned that mothers really care about there kids and how mothers want the best for there kids even tho some mothers did not have the most growing up they still want what they did not have growing up for the kids.

this made me feel sad because it was about a mother and her diffcult times

Something i took to heart was the fact that the mother took her time to explain to her son the dangers of life and that you just have to keep trying

This poem made me feel emotional because the way Langston Hughes wrote the poem and HOW he wrote it and with the techniques he used to write it, it made me feel like I could relate to it. I like how he described the mother son relationship even though he is not a mother, and I also like how he makes the mother describe her life to her son and interpret what a mother might say to their young son.
