I am now in Grade 12, studying at Ateneo de Davao University. Someone special. | This is Punshi. A boy I met in 2021, over a stupid bet with my friend. What started as something small turned into a long term relationship, and we connected over the little things we could, spending time together playing games since our bond began online. One day I realized I started to like him more than a friend which was silly to me, I hated online relationships. I didn't like the thought of long distance relationships— Then I met him, I found myself slowly falling for him. How he would make me laugh, how he could say anything and I'd smile— I fell for him. We've gone through a lot, but I will never not be grateful for everything he has taught me within the years and onward. I'm thankful for him everyday no matter what, and I have so much admiration for how hardworking and strong this sweet boy is. He is and always will be the biggest part of my life despite us being young because he saved me when I felt like there was no way out—when the world felt too heavy to carry on my own. He became my safe place, the one person who could quiet the noise in my head and remind me that I was worthy of love and of living. Even if time changes us, even if distance or circumstance pull us apart, I know deep down that his impact on me will never fade. I'll always love him dearly. ^^

Infancy | When I was a baby, I was a really playful bundle of joy or at least that's what my grandma likes to say. I loved to talk, I didn't hide what I felt and I was pretty much a free spirited kid.

Toddler | As a toddler, I liked keeping to myself. I was too shy to ever bond with other kids because I was never really exposed to that environment, and whenever I was I'd be picked on which plays a part in how meek I was in this age.

Preschool | I made friends and enemies, I found my friends talking about having a "crush" and thought it was gross but just decided to roll with it thinking I had a crush on some boy in my class. (because of constantly being teased about him) In these years my grandparents had taken me in, letting my mom go off to finish college.

Elementary | My dad had left for abroad to work, but I think I managed just fine not understanding much since I was still young. I met my closest friends that I still hold dear to my heart today, from kindergarten until now and I cherish my memories with them so much.

Adolescence | I've learned a lot since then, I've changed and been told that I've matured. I've tried getting into badminton, volleyball- yet it all pulled me back to my roots, dance. I also got into cosplaying, but I'm now on hiatus. I've taken a break from dancing as well for my own good so I could prioritize school. I've gone through a lot, there were times where I realized I have to start standing up for myself, where I finally came to terms that I mattered. My feelings mattered- and it wasn't an easy journey. It took a lot to get where I am, it took a lot of failure, a lot of tears as I climbed my way to being who I am today. I'm known to be empathic, maybe too much apparently. I've been told I care about everybody around me, that I'm quite selfless when I thought I was always selfish. I tend to love to bring joy to people's faces because that's a way of also making myself happy too, by reassuring myself that others could have a good day, that they could smile even if they felt like they couldn't at such hard times, that they too mattered. I hope I’ve made a meaningful impact on people, just as they have on me, by appreciating the little things about them that they might not even realize about themselves. Life has been hard, it really has but I know it will only get harder. I'll still be pushing myself to my limits to achieve what I truly want, and to secure my life in the future.

1. Yes, Personal Development was helpful for me. It made me understand myself on a deeper level, especially in terms of how I handle emotions and relationships. I became more aware of my strengths, my limitations, and the parts of myself I still want to improve. It also helped me recognize why I react the way I do in certain situations and taught me how to communicate better and be more mindful of my own needs and feelings. || 2. My biggest takeaway is that growth always starts with self-awareness. You can’t really change or improve if you don’t understand yourself first. I learned that it’s okay to acknowledge both the good and the difficult parts of who I am. I also realized that everyone—including my own family—has their own struggles and perspectives, so understanding them is part of becoming a better person. Another important takeaway is that taking care of myself emotionally is just as important as taking care of other people. || 3. My two favorite topics were Mental Health and Well-Being and Knowing One’s Self. Mental Health and Well-Being stood out because it taught me how important it is to understand my emotions, my stress levels, and my coping strategies. It helped me recognize the signs of burnout or emotional overload and reminded me that taking care of my mental state is essential, not optional. Meanwhile, Knowing One’s Self was my favorite because it pushed me to reflect on my values, my personality, and the kind of person I want to become. Both topics felt very personal and meaningful, and they helped me grow not just as a student, but as a person.
