Hi, I’m Dan Savin. I’m in the Master of Arts in Special Education program at Northeastern Illinois University. I came to the United States in 1999, and as a young student entering a new learning program, the transition was not easy. Adapting to a new culture and language came with many challenges, but it also shaped my resilience and passion for working with people. I love this country because it truly is a place where dreams can become reality. The opportunities I've had here have inspired me to give back by supporting students and working closely with people from all walks of life. I find deep fulfillment in building connections, fostering growth, and helping others achieve their goals.

After working in the corporate world for over 20 years in roles such as Plant Manager and Director of Manufacturing, I began to rethink my priorities. Witnessing my wife’s success stories in education deeply inspired me to make a meaningful career switch. I chose to transition into teaching, with a focus on guiding young minds—especially those with special needs. This shift has brought a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment to my life. I’m currently working in the Chicago Public Schools District as a SECA (Special Education Classroom Assistant), where I support students with diverse learning needs.

I’m also a proud husband and father of two children. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, spending quality time with my family, and volunteering in schools, community programs, and religious events.
