A few of these include:
SED1.4b Identifies personal characteristics, preferences, thoughts, and feelings
The child kept repeating that her favorite color was pink.
SED1.4d Shows independence in his/her own choices.
The child the chose, on her own, to put lime green and pink paint in the cups.
CD-MA4.4c Creates and extends simple, repeating patterns.

Some standards that show this are:
PDM6.4a Performs fine-motor tasks that require small-muscle strength and control.
The child moves the paint brush in slanted strokes, going from one corner to the other.
 CLL4.4b Demonstrates use of expanded sentences and sentence structures to ask questions and/or respond verbally.
The child says, "Where are the paint brushes?"
 CLL9.4b Uses writing tools
The child folded two papers, drew a picture of half a heart, and then proceeded to cut out the hearts.
