         <description><![CDATA[<div>Speakeasy also known as blind pig or gin joint, was where liquor was illegally sold. They were very popular in the U.S during prohibition. Speakeasy’s were a big contributor to corruption during this time. Speakeasy owners would bribe police and government official to avoid raids. Owners were also precautious by using passwords and secret knocks before admittance. These places also caused a dramatic shift in women’s drinking habits, as it was not common for women to consume alcohol in public.</div>]]></description>

A rum runner is different in the sense that they travel by sea to obtain the alcohol, get it into America, and run it across the line of prohibition.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
