As a kid, I would often space out in class, only to be snapped back to attention by a teacher’s snarky comment. Typically, this villain was Monsieur Proux, who seemed able to appear out of nowhere, catching me off guard. He’d stick his face about an inch away from mine and caustically shout, “X Monsieur,” the loss of grades seeming to give him perverse pleasure. His snarling mouth barely contained his shark-like rows of yellow, snaggle-teeth and wafts of rancid halitosis. It was like being tossed from a peaceful dream straight into a waking nightmare!

As a teacher myself, I easily recognize when a student is spacing out. And I’m not talking about the sleep-deprived ones who email me work at 3:49 in the morning, show up late to class, and then just put their head down on the desk (thus perpetuating the cycle). Rather, I mean the students who work diligently but pause every now and then to stare off at some random point, eyes glazing over slightly.

Having done this myself - heck, I still do this during long, drawn-out meetings! - I recognize the signs: the gradual loosening of the facial muscles, relaxing of the shoulders, and slow, deep, peaceful breaths.

I empathize with these students.

In this time of Covid, I think it’s important to embrace these micro-moments of mental wellness. Call it what you will - zoning out, spacing out, out to lunch, or off to la-la land - these mental flights of fancy allow us to escape our everyday tensions, especially those due to Covid’s ubiquity.

Spacing out is not necessarily a bad thing. On the contrary, it can be a positive experience...though you probably don’t want to space out when writing an exam. Or crossing Nguyen Van Linh on the way home!

We have abundant amount of beef so just stop everything you’re doing and have a moment in your life to reflect yourself and relax.

Come and help me. Just see any sauce that you would prefer to yourself and try to taste it. Now opened up that shiny rap surrounding those meat and try to pull it out from the plastic cage, with the dust and mold getting expand from the Styrofoam. Hold this marveling meat being blending with the lean meat, with oily fat . This meat have been revealed for us to the first time, which has been the most glorious events happening on our life. This meat might have been produced from the wide meadow with a cow eating fresh grass mooing around. All the nutrient have been multiplied 2 time when we started to land it on the pan.

It started to jiggle and the oils are popping out and hitting our arms, we can hear sounds of heaven harp as the pan heats up and cooking the meat. The juice from the meat have been splendidly out. When we turned to the opposite side, the side of the cooked meat was altering into a brown color.

Nowadays, there are a variety of pizza being made, different toppings, sauces, and the crust. People often prefer cheese, pepperoni, seafood, and different types of toppings on pizza. However, why are people underappreciating pineapple on pizza? Is it to sour? Too flavorful? I’ve seen a huge number of people who refused to pineapple pizza and I still don’t understand why. Yeah, it is your choice to decide to have it on the pizza or not; however, wouldn’t your pizza taste better which pineapple on it?

Pineapple adds more flavor to your pizza.

People argues that pizza should not have pineapple because it loosen the original flavor.

Donuts! Donuts! Donuts! C’mon who doesn’t love donuts? Donuts are the perfect little desert for you after your dinner or it can be a perfect breakfast. You can have a donut any time you want, at lunch, or just as a quick snack before you head out to start your day. Donuts can also come in many flavors, and many shapes. I personally love the ones that are circles. The best part of this is when you bite the middle part. All the delicious jam/juice inside just bursts out with mouthwatering, delicious, and appetizing flavor.

I think that donuts should also be in the talk of pizza or ice cream. You could even put the ice cream inside the donut and create a thing of beauty, and of course flavorsome. Let’s talk about the smell of the donuts. When they are getting baked, you can already smell the deliciousness in them.

I never want the donut to end. I just want it to keep on going on and on and never ending. Honestly, the feeling of buying a dozen donuts is similar to buying some new shoes. No joke. I mean shoes are more expensive but the temporary pleasure of donuts can compare to it. Anyway, I think that donuts are definitely underrated and should be in the talk of best snack/ best food.

I feel like gum are under-appreciated. It helps you out in so many ways as there is this minty flavor that when your taste buds touch it, the flavor is so good in your mouth. A bite, then another bite releases out so many flavors the more you chew. To many people with insecurities and want to look good, they often chew gum as it helps build their jawline. The flavor of the gum is unexplainable, as your taste buds gets more of that flavor, the more sticks you want to chew as the first stick is out of flavor.

Some people I think also chew gum as they help a lot of people not to bite their gum if they’re having anxiety attack. It helps them to limit their self-harm action by just chewing gum.

Sadly the more you chew on it, the more flavor it draws out. As a stick of gum only have a limited amount of flavor. As you stick another gum in your mouth again, it draws back that flavor, putting you back in that euphoric state.

Throughout the pandemic, another arises; boredom. It’s the little things at home that really matter in this time, and I think that a vivid and immersive experience of the author really submerges the reader in a grand masterpiece of a word painting.

I believe that if I can’t bring myself happiness not one can’t. So, spend time on your own is a way to relax yourself. This will give you a new perspective of life. A lot of people will say that hanging out with yourself is very lonely or even make you more sad. I disagree with that statement because devote time to yourself is a way to take care of yourself from the inside to out. “Try one time” just to ask Yourself what it want.

Try it once to what your body and your mind actually need.

In conclusion, I just want to say that spend time with yourself don’t spend time with betrayal and toxic people because they don’t worth your time.

An example of something underappreciated would be real, word-filled books. Movies are great, sure, but the thing about books is that each person envisions it a different way, no matter the book, (unless it’s a picture book for kids.) Unlike manga and comics, which have pictures- which may seem great, but forces you to think in one way, robbing it of the fun of envisioning it yourself.

Kindle books are great, and usually cheaper than real books themselves, but then again, who wouldn’t want a real copy of a book? Sure, kindle books might have certain advantages like the ability to never lose your books (unless you lose your kindle, in which case is a few hundred dollars down the drain.) However, real, material books have a certain...stolidness you must appreciate. Turning a page might make you the slightest bit more tired than just pressing a button, but it’s just not the same. Flipping through a book is always more satisfying than just pressing buttons. Flipping through a good book as you think about how crazy it is, while sitting at home doing nothing. What more could you ask for?

If I had to be honest, nothing beats sleeping on a flying aircraft. From the moment you board the aircraft, to the moment when you finally land. The vibrations of the engines that can serve as quality ASMR while you sleep through the crying babies and the cabin crew announcements. There always is something so, achieving when you are successfully able to get a good night's rest through all the chaos and chatter of the aircraft. When you do finally wake up and see the light of day, you find yourself in another world, a different country. You are then given a light breakfast that tastes (In my opinion) good when you consume it. And as soon as you wake up there is something so satisfying and relieving to hear “Attention cabin crew, please prepare for landing”. And when you land, you are greeted with an airport and another land to visit and to explore. Unfortunately, this is all during a time when we were all free to travel the world without any restrictions. But during the time of this pandemic and health restrictions. The closest thing you can get to this experience is sleeping in a car.

Hello there, welcome in. Let’s sit down, have a break and stress eat cheese. We really need to stop overthinking and just take a moment in our life. These horrendous months since COVID started had made us scrolling through social medias, read articles that does not relate or benefit us but simply to entertain us in a way.

Come here, let’s enjoy this bowl of melted cheese, I have just found this in the fridge earlier. It probably wouldn’t even know that it's just made for you. The comfort when eating cheese makes me feel happy whenever I take a bite. Raw cheese, cooked cheese, anything will satisfy me if only, it’s cheese.

You probably have faced a time where you were being bullied or someone being bullied at least once. When “you” were the one being bullied, I believe you had a hard time overcoming it. So did I.

When I was in elementary school, one of my friends were trying to mischief other students by giving a fake and anonymous card to them. Later, this became a big problem and all of our classmates were told to “Never do it again”. It was okay until this happened. Me and one of my friends told the teacher that “they” did it. As a result, someone figured it out that we told “the person who did it” to the teacher. From the next day, Me and one of my friends were having/ felt some kind of pressure from those students. I mean we did feel some kind of “sorry” for them but what I think is wrong is that they are the one who actually did it and accusing us! Make no sense!

In this situation, we were really helped by other students. They stayed with us and supported us. It was the most happiest thing during that time. This really helped us and we think that we weren't able to overcome if there were no "help".

Therefore, I believe that "bullying" is overlooked and although people might be scared to talk to the person bullied, it will save the person's loneliness more than you think!

Something that is underappreciated is life. Life is the existence of an individual human being or animal. Honestly, people do underestimate it. People waste time with it, they don’t have anything to do. They don’t live life to the fullest, but instead they waste it. Life is important, and so is your existence. Somehow, people don’t know or they don’t want to know why their existence is important. The purpose of life is to live, to learn new things, and experience different things in a journey. It’s essential to everyone. I hate to say this, but people just take a “shortcut” to life when they give up. They give up on everything, when there are no solutions to life. Why? Because it’s quick. You took the easy way out, and your mind is tricked so that you don’t have to worry about it. The effort required for the shortcut is usually far less than the effort required for the long way out, but it would be a tragedy if you took the shortcut. But hey, guess what? I am simply thankful for your existence–whether I am apart of it or not. Keep in mind, that someone is still praying for you, and is thankful that you existed!

As a person, I remember having the daily pleasure of arriving home, jumping onto bed and taking a nice, long nap. It’s a pleasure and a leisure activity that everybody overlooks.

People are too busy nowadays. What with all the work, and work and work, and now nobody has the time to appreciate our ol’ buddy, the good old nap. Children tend to complain, “I don’t wanna take a nap!”, and adults complain about how they “Don’t have the time for a nap!”

People assume that a nap takes too much of their time. But it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours! A nap isn’t like sleeping, a nap only takes a single period of sleep, while sleep has many phases.

While you sleep, you undergo many different phases, each a little bit deeper than the last. But a nap, on the other hand, is just one short period of sleeping, and then back to the happy, conscious being you were.

Why do people overlook this very important activity? It's because nobody takes naps anymore. Everybody is too busy at work, too busy at school, too busy in general to take this free energy renewer that not only relaxes you, but is an excellent way to spend your time. It gives you rest and relaxation; it de-stresses your mind from all the commotion of modern day life that plagues our heads, and most importantly, it's some time we can spend on ourselves.

You might be wondering, “Ok, now I know that napping is good for you. But what if I don’t have the time?” The thing is, you do! You can take a 20-30 minute nap, and the effects are all the same. So drop the phone of yours, get off the games, turn off your electronic devices and get napping!

Something overlooked and underappreciated in this world is none other than tissues.

Tissues are essential to life. No matter where we are, tissues are always present. Whether in a classroom, the cafeteria, the bus, or even in a workplace, tissues are everywhere.

We use tissues on a daily basis, if we actually think about it. If tissues were non-existent, then our lives would be very different, and hard to go by. But even though all of this is true, people still don’t think about tissues that much, or appreciate them. Since we see and use them everyday, we subconsciously overlook tissues and our use of them. Now that I’ve thought of it, I never once gave tissues a second thought, until I ran out of it. I now reflect to my old self. Tissues are the best.

I believe that people don’t appreciate cats enough. Why is that? Is it because they are supposedly aggressive all the time, compared to dogs? Cats give just as much love a dog can, of course they don’t show it as much but they can really care like a dog, but they don’t express it as much.

Cats are usually those gentle animals that you come home to, they can be silly of course, but they are mostly there to comfort you. You don’t see that for a dog, most of the time they poop everywhere in the house and they just leave a mess before you come home from work. Cats do leave messes sometimes but they don’t get hyper All. The. Time.

When you’re dealing with something serious and you’re not feeling well, a cat will sense that, and they’ll come to comfort you. When you’re doing well and wanted to celebrate before you come home, most likely the cat will not care, but they just keep chilling. Sure that’s not really expressive of them but they’re there, and they only open themselves up when you’re in a difficult position. So why does nobody talk about cats in a positive way.. EVER. They need just as much love from you as much as they give, so respect the cats, and give them free scratches.

I don’t bother to care what people say, but a cat is the coolest and most understanding animal I’ve ever had. They act as if they don’t care like they’re in a mood, or they’re going through something, but they can also be soft, in personality and and cotton candy. So yea- respect them.

I think meals are really under appreciated by most people. Of course, there are people that enjoy meals every time they eat them, but most people that I have seen treat meals like something they have eaten the same food their entire life. For example, when I go to a restaurant, I order food and focus on the food’s taste, and usually eat everything on the plate I ordered, but many people that I have seen act like they don’t enjoy the food that they ordered, and leave them cold for a long time and be on their phone while not paying attention to the food. It’s like people are wasting money on foods. They ordered all the expensive menu they could order, and they just leave them, and finally eat it when it becomes cold. You should appreciate meals and buy food that you could finish before getting cold.

To me, what something is very overlooked and under-appreciated is Garlic. Garlic can be literally used in every type of dish. It can be used in fried rice, chicken, beef stew, everything. When people eat it raw, it is bitter and not delicious, even for me it is like that. But, when you fry the garlic, it becomes one of the best taste you ever had. It is a taste that you can’t describe. Do you know why most of the chefs put garlic in every dishes? It’s because it makes the taste stronger. That’s why, my favorite dish is Garlic egg fried rice. It makes the taste so addictive. It is also why that most Korean people eat it with Korean BBQ. Garlic shows who I am. Before it's cooked it taste so bad, but when you fry it, it becomes one of the most delicious taste ever. Thats how I think I am.

To many, Pele is the best, even most talented in the history of soccer. Well, he did scored a mythical 1,238 goals throughout his career. But, is he really that good? It is to be told that 40% of his goals doesn’t count. This 40% of are scored against teams can’t even be compared to Pele’s. Yes, he is talented indeed, but he is only talented in his time. Pele was able to play against teams that can’t even be compared to his. Back then, player’s skills aren’t as good as modern time. Even Zinedine Zidane deserves the “best player in history” more than Pele does. Pele “was” considered the best, because no one back then was really that good. Pele can’t be and shouldn’t be compared to Messi, Cruyff, Maradona, Ronaldo or even Neymar. If 40% of Pele goal doesn’t count, then he really only scored 743, which is a lot, don’t get me wrong. If we compared 743 goals to modern players such as messi who scored 705, who is only 33, and Ronaldo who Scored 740 goals, and he’s only 36. Pele should not be considered to be the best player in history of football. Modern soccer is a lot more competitive, and a lot more players are very talented.

When it comes to summer, traveling with friends can be the best thing you can do. Just imagine this, discovering new things with your friends and make unforgettable memories. I’ve always loved traveling with my friends, it puts me in a state of euphoria.

If I’m gonna be honest, I want to travel with my friends more than I want to travel with my family. Traveling with friends can allow you to be the best version of yourself and express your emotions and feelings freely.

It connects because the feeling of gathering together and telling each others’ stories while eating marshmallows at a fireplace is the best thing.

Before quarantine started, I felt like nintendo weren’t a very commonly used video game device amongst teens, since the majority of them spend their long hours staring at a pc monitor when you could just relax and stare at a nintendo screen. I personally like chilling on my bed while gaming which is how it’s meant to be done, but you guys might prefer sitting up right on a chair and try-harding, which I agree is fun, but after a tired day you won’t be Doing so good in game. So guess what?

We turn to our dear ol’ nintendo, so get comfortable wherever you are and just relax. The company’s still throwing out games, might as well play some.

Something I feel like that is overlooked and underappreciated are books. I read a lot of graphic novels, novels, and another genre of book I don’t know the name of. You learn a lot from reading, and you use books to kill time. I feel like reading is really underappreciated by people because I guess they “judge the book by it’s cover,” but I can’t blame them because I also do. I’ve read a lot of novels before, mostly the Percy Jackson book series, and I absolutely love it, but then it’s really hard for me just to get up and get the book, it’s a weird mixed feeling where you want to read, but at the same time you don’t really want to. I also know for one that everyone that a lot of people likes graphic novels, even if they’re not a reader themself.
