There are many exemptions to the copyright law. Therefore there is no advice given by the experts which is 100% correct. At the library we have only one expert and she is always so busy to reply to quick questions.

I do feel comfortable asking our copyright librarians when I'm unsure about using copyrighted material in my work. However, when I need to advise lecturers and students directly, I worry about seeming overly prohibitive in tone (and like a jobsworth!) - that first point about a disconnect between copyright law and navigating people's perspectives on how the world should work definitely rings true. I would really like to hear more about positive and playful approaches that have worked for others

I’ve been asked to make several presentations about AI and copyright issues, because the students and the professors are anxious. I can see from a copyright perspective that some of their practices are clearly wrong. In the same time some practices are also legit but my organisation is “censuring me” and doesn’t want me to give a clear answer because of the hypothetical risk of being sued.
