Because we all used to same book for reference, our definitions and milestones are very similar. What is surprising to me is how applicable this is to real life. I have been able to identify milestones in kids since I learned about the different stages kids pass through at different ages.

After being told to use the book to find language milestone and definitions, my group has concluded that we have found the same information.

As a mother it was interesting to learn about the milestones and compare them to my own son's development.

Knowing when to change the topic or even recognizing when to change your formality when speaking to a person or group of people represents an understanding of pragmatics.Which is what I found to be most interesting to read about although we all had a similar definition of it.

I didn't think that certain things babies did were considered as milestones until a member of the group told me the importance. For instance, crying and babbling are things we should be proud of a baby doing. The reason being is that babies are developing how to speak and bring words together, starting at crying(at birth) and using two word utterances plus rapidly expansion of understanding of words
( at 18 to 24 months)
