In each of my classes/courses there use to be certain months such as October,December, February and April which used to be a hectic months as all assignments/exams were all due all within the same week.
There were many things that would happens all at once.
It also involved personal/professional life such as birthdays, family gatherings,as well as patients reports at my work place Sunnybrook which was required by my supervisor as it was fiscal year.
The best way to organized myself and my time with all due dates happening all at once was to use the knowledge area of project schedule management.

As the due dates were given ahead of time, I would input those dates on a sticky note above my desk to ensure I can see it everyday.

Sticky notes have different colors so each color would be considered a different prioritization (eg. Pink = High Priority and Blue= Low Priority).

I also ended up buying a planner which made it easier to track my day on an hourly basis. It helped me to make sure i completed atleast one/two assignments with notes that particular day.

As a Pakistani, family gatherings happens quite often especially last minute. As well as they mostly happen on a weekly basis but if i am lucky it happens once a month. However when we do have one and i am unable to convince my mum that i can not go i end up rearranging my entire week to make sure that i manage to work that day before the gathering.

After each task is complete i cross it off happily. However some days due to unexpected events; some assignments don't get complete i will push them over to the next day and make sure it gets completed the next day first.

During these processes I have come across many challenges, many breakdowns and many days where I thought id give up.

During my undergrad, I have come across a time where i had an assignment due which was worth 30% along with another assignment for a different course worth 2%. Although i give all my work my 100% effort I was so focused on that 30% assignment that i completely forgot to submit my other paper. My assignment was also listed on my sticky notes but because I didn't manage my time well enough i ended up losing that 2%.

When I am under alot of stress i also get anxiety which pushes alot of my work behind and that has happened many times during my undergrad.

In my professional life when reports were needed during a certain deadline. I personally am a type of person who makes sure she meets those deadlines. However when i took it as top priority my supervisor/manager would not. They would hand me another report on top of that which made me feel like i wasted my time.

After my first incident where I missed my one assignment, it was an eye opener for me as I made sure it never happened again; but how did i do it.

After looking through my outline i noticed we are able to hand our 2% assignment in prior to the due date. So that is what i did for the remainder of my assignments and my major assignments I would work everyday a little each day.

I have told my sister of my anxiety and as she is older and has gone through the same challenges as me she gave me a few ideas. 1) Talk to her, 2) Download a calm app (which i have and still use till this day) and 3) Take as much breaks to not get too stress. With these techniques i learned more on how to control my anxiety.

As for my work place, I have talked to my supervisor/manager and explained to them about my schedule and what I am doing. It was my first time speaking up for myself and explaining how I met all the requirements and after that they have started to treat my work and effort respectfully.
