Ahm well first of all I know that STEM is a very hard Strand, so I expected that I'll have a hard time here, but it's beyond my expectations... I kinda felt that I wanna give up and transfer Strand but nahh, this is just the beginning of the life, I'll do my best to survive in this strand and can graduate at STEM even though that I am not that smart, I'll work hard for my dreams and for my future and also for my family that's all!

been spoon fed by my teachers in math in all of my school years that’s why it was not easy for me to adjust to Sr. Jonathan’s way of teaching in precal but it did give me realizations that I need to be able to study on my own, learn whenever I can, and spend my time learning. He has given me a reality check and humbled me enough to be able to do things and study on my own and learn from him whenever I can. -Carlos

Honestly, I am really not good at math, solving or understanding formulas but I am learning to understand when I have free time (dami isusulat) and I am so thankful bc Sir Jonathan doing recitation (will call u until u understand what he asked u that u didn't know what the answer) he may seem strict but he's just doing his job, thank you sir for always giving us a chance to understand ur subject even tho it's really hard for me

It's hard po talaga ╥﹏╥

first day of school I'm so scared po kasi ma meet ko po yung mga sub teachers ko po especially Mr. Joaquin and Ms. Mallillin. My former classmate kept saying that i should shift to other strand hahahaha sa sobrang scared po siguro muntik na. Ms. Mallillin talk to us kahapon po, she was sp dissapointed and was sad po because some of my classmate po nag shift or lumipat po ibang school : ( she said pa po na sana wala nang lumipat po, she also encouraged us not to give up po and be strong ≧﹏≦ that's why i don't want to shift to other strand na po because of what she said po. and sana maka sabay na po ako sa mga kaklase ko, hindi pa kasi ako nag rerecite sa pre cal nanginginig na agad kamay ko ╥﹏╥. My problem lang po is how ko po masasagutan yung worksheet (i have fever pa po and di po nag f-function ng ayos brain ko rn) but i ask some of my classmate if they want to have group study sana po pumayag sila (￣∇￣)

Witnessing friends and mates transfer school/strands had made me feel uncertain with my decisions. I had thoughts like If I can rlly handle this strand, the subjects esp pre cal where I am lacking a lot, the school hrs that seemed forever. I assumed that I had to follow my friends bc they make me feel like I can handle everything as long as I’m with them. But I decided to stay here. Making that decision was hard, how ever I knew this is the path for me bc how can I learn if I choose the easy way? this is where I’ll actually learn and be independent on my own and it starts with stepping out of my comfort zone. Pre cal gives me anxiety but I understand why sir teach this way bc I started to learn bit by bit and relearning the basics. I kudos you sir for your way of teaching!

Im having a hard time in my first week and i feel like giving up or want to change school or change strand but now i feel confident abt what I've learned in my first week and want to continue. And from what I've learned in my first week is to be confident and just be myself even tho im not very good at math, im questioning myself why i pick stem🤣.And because of Sir. Joaquin i was able to understand ung mahirap unawain para sakin and nakikita ko ung pagtulong nya as teacher sa mga nahihirapan unawain ung topic nya and nakikita kong pinag lalabanan nila mga answer nila which is good to learn cause you need to learn from your mistake pero ako na hinde na tatawag at hinde alam ung isasagot which is i rely on other's pero alam kung dapat akong mag rely sakin but im not type of that guy na mataas confident sumagot and tama sagot ko, kasi mahina memory ko pero pag may nag mention ng sagot dun kolang matatandaan ung sagot🤣 so yeah... I'll try my best para makapag college:> thankyou sirr<3

First week of the school year, I feel like I'm feeling pressure already. Well yeah, precal doesn't stress me much so I hope I can go with the flow. I only expected that the precal would be difficult as anyone else said, but what I did not expect is how sir joaquin teaches precal which makes other learners scared and nervous. However, I think this is the best way to make the students learn.

At first, grabe yung kaba ko for pre-cal po, but now ganon pa rin po pero

humuhupa na nang kaunti hehe. There were students na lumipat(or gustong lumipat) ng strand dahil sa pre-cal daw, at first natakot ako sa news na yon but now mas motivated na po akong mag-aral pa lalo, I want to improve more. I'll prove that pre-cal is survivable~

Sir Jonathan helped me realize that we should learn on our own and take lessons from it. Although he can be strict, I know that he has a kind heart and that he will make sure all of his students will learn the material. Overall, I was really expecting precalculus to be difficult and our teacher to be terrifying, but I was also excited because of the Engr. title. However, on the first day when I saw Sir Joaquin, I found him very motivating and a great teacher! I was really motivated because of him. It's just sad that my classmates are changing strands because of this subject. Your way of teaching is excellent, Sir! We feel like college students, and I think that's why some of our classmates are changing strands or schools. They are not used to this way, I guess... I admire Sir Joaquin so much, and I would love to be like him. I want to learn more from him. I struggle with social anxiety when it comes to reciting yeah, but after doing it once and hearing my name get called, I feel the fear dissipate and my confidence grows. I got the general formula right and I think I did great(⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠) Math things were not my favorite, but I think it is my favorite now because of you, sir. Thank you for awakening my potential. I am really thankful. I hope some of my classmates see the motivation too. Enjoy learning more rather than studying because you are scared to get called and answer nothing. First and foremost, I was really expecting stem strand is the most hardest strand. First, I was really scared and pressured but i know it's part of our learning. My first day was really hard , i slept about 2 am in the morning just to study and study. I was really pressured in every subject that we have. Most specially in precal. I know sir was really expecting high from us because we chose stem strand. He's really strict but he just really want us to learn independently and confidently. But those difficulty, struggles and challenges he gave us he just want us to realize that learning was not easy as we expect. Honestly I just realized those things he was doing to us is not a torture or what. It's just his way for sharing he's knowledge and experiences how hard being a stem student.

Also to the other teachers, they're really good not as i expected. I really learn and think positively from them that I and we can survive stem by the help of them. Being strict is not the reason to quit. They just don't want us to leave tnhs without any knowledge because they have a goal for us. Day by day there's a fight, but that fight with the knowledge we have can lead us to success that we want. Don't give up guys , we know its just the start of our journey . There's still 18 months and more things that we should be ready on before we enter the real biggest war.

First day palang napapadasal nako 🤣

It's really hard coming from someone who scared of failure, and I'm also scared to get out of my comfort zone. I'm still at the adjusting phase because senior high is very different from junior high. (sana naman may nag inform sakin non.. charot!)

But I know that it's the right choice to choose STEM. i can't deny the fact that I sometimes feel pressured but I know that it's part of the process....

But nevertheless, it's also fun; you really just have to study smart and have a good time management...

My first week in calculus is nakakatakot. Matututo ka hindi lang sa subject, matututo ka ring mag-aral nang mag-aral, maging brave, and magtiwala sa sagot at sarili mo kasi hindi tatawagin at tatawagin talaga sa recitation kapag hindi su=igurado sa sagot at hindi tama yung sagot. First time ko lang din maka encounter ng teacher kase my past teachers only teach short method or long method lang unlike Sir Joaquin so medyo nag aajust pa pero kakayanin. Literal na STEM is for brave people but masaya pa rin naman po kayo magturo sir Joaquin. Thankful lang din me sa mga new classmates ko kasi easy to approach lang sila kapag may hindi naiintindihan na lesson.

I was really surprised how passionate the teachers here at TNHS.I am a transferee and I am already fond of the teachers here at TNHS and they really take their jobs seriously and that kind of surprised me so I really admire the teachers here.The teachers might be strict and other students might find them harsh but I believe it's for our sake since it is their duty to guide us future generation because someday we will replace their places in the society.I am not that quite fond of Math and this is the only subject that I find the most difficult to understand but because our Math teacher is passionate about his job,it kind of encouraged me to give Math a chance again.He might b harsh but he actually considers the students and he knows that most of us already forgot about the basic foundations of Math so he made the Khan Academy so we can easily understand the upcoming lessons in Pre-Calculus since it uses the formulas that we already learned in Middke School or Junior High School as foundation. So I understand that Sir Jonathan was kind of maybe flipped off at the first day of school since there's no one in my section who answered in Khan Academy.I didn't really have the time to answer them since I lack the time management.I am looking forward for more lessons from Sir Jonathan and I will try my best to learn Pre-Cal and I hope with Sir Jonathan's guidance,I will excel in Pre-Calculus or at least be decent in this subject.

I anticipated Pre-calculus in grade 11 to be challenging, andddit has lived up to my expectations.😔😔, Howeverrr, I believe that with TIME and PERSISTENCE, we will gain a deeper understanding of the subject. It’s only been a week since school started, so it’s natural for some of us to feel overwhelmed. Personally, I struggle to understand things when I feel pressured, and being in the STEM strand means I'll face even more pressure in other subjects. (Scared hahahah)

We can try helping each other out, but of course, not by cheating. I know our teacher has high expectations for us, and I hope I can meet them or at least come close🥲🥲🥲🥲, I struggle with manual calculations but will always try my best and not be afraid to use my calculator when necessary. Our teacher was probably an excellent student back in his time, and I hope he will be a great role model for us to follow.
