i know that network scanning uses different types of tools and scanning techniques such as port scanning which involves probing a target host to discover which ports are open, closed, or filtered. (Nmap, angry IP scanner) and Ping sweeping which involves sending ICMP (ping) requests to a range of IP addresses to determine which hosts are responsive.

what i dont know is how to use the advanced features of Nmap such as scripting, performance optimization or custom scan configurations.
