1) Analogy-  King compares the republic to a legal lending agreement

"they were signing a promissory note to which every American was to fall heir"

The Theme is the main idea of literature piece. Martin Luther King Jr. talks a lot about 'I Have A Dream' and living the 'American Dream', where he believed that America will finally live in peace together despite the different color people.

 

2. Analogy

Explaining things by making it parallel to other things. MLK compared the public to legal lending agreement and 'Cash A Check' with ' Signing a Promissory Note'.

 

3. Consonance

Repeating of the consonant in beginning, or middle or end of words in a sentence. 

 

4. Symbolism

The use of symbols to represent ideas or meaning.
