Who is in trouble if artificial intelligence does something illegal? There would have to be new laws and regulations that can assign blame to people or companies. If an automated car uses AI and crashes, who is at fault? How do companies save face? Terms and conditions? The justice system would have to take all of this into account in legal battles, especially in cases of death or injury

This would then impact the success/profitability of areas that are experiencing climate crisis and their standard of living. Climate crisis could increase or decrease travel, depending on the traveler's situation (i.e. are they currently living in an area facing climate crisis).

The quickly increasing amount of waste we have on earth could eventually lead to a large reduction in farmland leading to even more food insecurity around the world, especially in places like China where we ship a lot of our waste as Americans.

It’s 2040. The world is seemingly more globalized than ever. Free trade agreements, going far beyond than anything imagined in NAFTA or the TPP. People are mad; it seems the jobs that defined the industrial heartlands of their countries are being shipped abroad. Yet corporations are seeing mass movements in their bottom lines, being able to earn far more profits and hire more workers as they now have access to cheap labor centers. The large cities of major countries are also booming, a sign of the benefits of greater international trade. It seems for now, that war is simply too costly as well. After all, who would risk a war if it meant shareholders would lose profits? It seems the world is at peace. For now…

With the recent devastation caused by natural disasters to western North Carolina and other parts of the country, the amount of available resources has decreased. Resources include mainly food and food products but also many other things that restaurants need in order to run. On this path, eventually restaurants will have to increase their prices dramatically in order to turn a profit due to the lack of resources.
