         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. I learned the role of management. I didn't understand the depth of the role and this chapter taught me. Mangers are to help organizations fulfill their purpose.<br>2. I learned the management process. It's made up of 4 basic management functions which include- planning, organizing, influencing, and controlling. <br>3. I learned about the different career and life stages. This helped in my person life, I was able to find myself within the stages. <br>4.I also learned the 7 steps that management can take to encourage the advancement of women in organizations. Knowing these steps will help me to encourage women in management positions and help me as a woman when seeking a management position. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Chapter 2 and 3</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chp 2.) Chapter 2 taught me about social responsibility. I looked at the role of management with limited vision. This chapter taught me that managers should have social responsibility. So I begin to compare some of the jobs that I've worked and pinpointed what the manager's social responsibility would have been.<br>Chp.2.) In this chapter I loved reading about the philanthropy challenge. I was happy to hear about a local organization (The First Tee) anad all of the work that they're doing throughout the community.<br>Chp.3.)Chapter 3 was one of my favorite chapters. It talked about diversity. I learned the advantages of a diverse workplace. Which include, better quality managers, Cost saving, and the awesome messages that it sends; just to name a few.<br>Chp.3.) I also learned some of the challenges that workplaces deal with when incorporating diversity. I'll just name a few, communication problems, work group problems, and resistance to change. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Chapter 4 </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. I learned about multi national corporations. Mulitnational corporations are organizations that operate in more than one country.<br>2.There are 6 stages of multinationalization. It's not only limited to "big name" companies, but small companies can also operate in other countries. <br>3.) I learned about international market agreements. Most agreements we establishes and implemented in the late 80"s and early 90's.<br>4.) I learned if you want to influence the people in a multinational organization, you need to get to know their culture, attitudes of the people of the country, and what motivates them. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Chp.5.) Chapter 5 taught me about the different types of plans. Organizational plans can be divides into two types, standing and single use plans.<br>Chp.6.)I learned about the rational decision making process. This process can not only be used in organizations, but I plan on using it throughout life. <br>Chp.6.) Some decision making tools are the probability theory and decision trees. <br>Chp.7.) I learned about the organizational mission. This is the reason why the organization exists. Managers and employees should know the mission statement of the company  to achieve the mission together. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div><br>Chp. 8) I learned the 5 main steps of organizing. You need to reflect on your plans, establish major tasks, didvide tasks into subtasks, allocate resources for subtasks, and finally evaluate their  results. <br>Chp.9) Some ways to make delegation successful are to give employees freedom to pursue tasks their own way, delegate on basis of employee interests, and entrust employees with whole projects. <br>Chp.16) I learned about organizational myths, the stories that are associated with the organization. <br>Chp.16) I learned about the health of the organization culture. Healthy organization culture is usually people oriented.   </div>]]></description>
