Almost to the point to were females could be mistaked as property as their rights were nothing compared to the male's. Scout being reminded of such humility by Dill causes her to look down at her gender.

Scout starts to become neglected by Jem and Dill which makes her feel left out. She feels like an option to them and is only included when they feel like having her around. When Scout is around Jem and Dill, she is constantly being told to act like anything besides a girl which shows what society was like in the 30s. Women didn't have proper human rights like men did and were always seen in a negative light. Even though now, women have more benefits there are still people who live by that mentality.
