This source from Aaron Edwards provided me with background context to the origins of the Yemeni Civil War which created a developed understanding for the circumstances of the War and how political views can influence someone's ability to listen to or comprehend the message being shown to them. This source also provided an understanding of the military capabilities and decision making of both sides and how these capabilities and decisions would influence the accessibility of humanitarian aid.

This source provided the most up to date information of the overall situation in Yemen and the severity of the situation for the people. This allowed for the understanding that up to 20 Million people in Yemen were in requirement of some form of humanitarian assistance. This source also provides reasons for US involvement and potential harms to their interests as they are one of the main nations which focuses on combatting terrorism.

This was a useful source as it provided photographic exemplars for how an effective promotion of a social issue can be achieved and the effects which this can have on a group or individual. Additionally, this source also solidified the main goal of any social change promotion which is to concisely get the target audience to understand and empathise with changing the issue at hand.

This source provides more detailed information in how children specifically are suffering within Yemen and the vast negative impacts which the civil war is having on their livelihoods. This source also provides information for what UNICEF is doing to help solve the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and how they use the funds they receive within Yemen. This source also provides the information for how many people have been positively influenced by the donations used within the country.

Treatment

The video will begin with myself adopting a typical bogan look (thongs, bucket-hat, singlet, sunnys) addressing the audience as if I were an infomercial speaker talking about Yemen and that people should donate. After this I will then grab a sheet of paper from behind the camera to double check my lines as if I forgot them to reread them and look in bewilderment at the figures that are on the script. I will then announce said figures with a look of disbelief on my face while stating the figures in an astonished yet somewhat saddened tone. I will then compare these figures to that of the Australian population and how terrible this would look if these figures were applied in our nation. I will then conclude by stating where people can donate to help out the Yemeni people and if they do not feel comfortable with doing that they can simply spread the message which will lead to others who are more able to help being notified. The screen will then cut to black to show what to search up to find where to donate in case some of the audience did not quite catch it while watching.
