         <description><![CDATA[<div>Kansas often has to much or too less water. early settlers lived close to rivers and streams to sustain life.  streams also held food because fish lived in the streams so they could get food. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>big and little bluestems are common.  the sunflower is our state flower. less than 4% of kansas is covered in forests. common trees are cotton wood, elm, oak, walnut.  cotton wood is our state tree.  antelope, and buffalos are common aminals.  the buffalos almost stopped roaming because they got hunted, the human popultion grew and the amount of wild animals decreased. there is almost 700 species of birds, fish and reptiles. grasshoppers are terrible. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>High plains flatlands, and formed by sediments. Red hills contains iron oxide indians thought there were healing powers. Glaciated region, it gets its name from the old glaciers. Ozark plateu, the oldest surface rock in the state. hilly and coverd in rocks and trees. Arkansas river lowlands rocks form the rocky mountains.  Wellington mcphersons lowlands, sand dunes with grasses, cherokee lowlands, very fertile soil a coal mining region. Chatuaugua hills, grazing land, it has trees and is covered by grass.  Smoky hills, 100 million years ago the region was under the ocean, Flint hills uplands, well known ranching area, this region is one of the last tall grass praries in the counrty. Osage cuestas,  east facing cliffs with slopes to the west.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>trees were cut down, stone was removed from the ground, water was consumed from rivers, today we plow to plant crops.  we irrigate the praries, we remove oil from the ground, human interaction caused the dust bowl because we farmed too much.  </div>]]></description>
