         <description><![CDATA[<div>As we said in class, there is more friction in rougher surfaces and less in smoother. These activities proved this because the smooth surface which was the wax paper is a lot smoother than the notebook paper and the sandpaper. It always has to do with surface. The calculator's good side is very smooth because it's plastic but the back side is rough because there are bits of silicone which creates friction. The third activity also had to do with the position they are in which means that if there is a paper and we put a plastic sharpener (which is smooth) and and eraser (which is rough), if the paper is diagonal, the sharpener will slide immediately while the eraser will stay in the same place for a while.<br> </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For the friction fun activities I noticed that the small heavy object moved easier on the wax paper and it slid easier. It took more power for the notebook paper and even more for the rough paper (the cardboard paper). The force of friction affects the motion of an object because depending on the surface it can slow down or go faster. For the second activity, the video showed many different experiments which we had some questions and examples to answer. For the third activity, we saw additional experiments we can do at home using friction such as an inclined plane. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>While I was doing the friction activities, I observed several things. The first thing that I observed from the first activity is that the waxpaper the the softest paper of the three. The second paper was a little bit harder from the first one, and the third one had a rough texture. Moving on, for the second experiement, I observed that the buttons of the calculator made the friction less. Lastly, for the third activity, I observed that the force of the container without the weights was less and the force of the container with the weights was more.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Some observations I have made for the Friction Fun activities include the following. One of the most interesting things I had noticed was from the first activity - and when moving attempting to move the paper the book on top would move with it. Another interesting thing I found out was that, if you exert enough pressure onto an object, no amount of friction can move said object. This was shown in activity 2 when the two people in the video put pressure on both sides of the book and could move it no longer. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>From my observations, I concluded that the sandpaper requred the most force to be moved. The more rough the surface is, the harder it will be to move. Additionally, based on my observations friction is when 2 surfaces rub against each other and create an energy between them called friction. The faster you pull the surface under an object, the easier it will slide away from under the object. The more force someone puts, the easier it will be.  Lastly, as a skater, understanding basic physics and especially friction,  is really important. Since there is friction between the wheels of a skateboard and the pavement, when someone goes to the grass, the grass stops the friction. Therefore, the skateboard will come to a complete stop.</div>]]></description>

For the first activity, I placed the paper and heavy object on the table and I pulled the bottom sheet of wax paper and it felt really smooth because it didn't include much of my force and also the paper was very smooth. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My observation for the first activity is that it made us understand that the wax's paper texture is smooth unlike the sand paper that is rough. It wanted to show us how the object went down slower in the wax paper but it went down with a big difficuilty in the sand paper. My observation for the second activity is that it wanted to show us how the calculator in one side (buttons) it's smoother than the other side so it's easier to fall down in the side that it's smoother. Ιn the last activity my observation is that it wanted to show us that when the object was smoother it could fall down easier than the other. </div>]]></description>

The sand paper has more of a grippy feel and for me it required more force than the other paper. The smooth paper was easier to pull and I had to use less force. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this friction project, I learnt a lot of how friction works and how it affects our daily lives. An example of friction is that if a surface is rough, it will travel over a smooth surface with a lot of resistance. This is what causes you to use so much force to pull the paper. In another example, if you have a heavy object on top of two papers, one paper is smooth wax paper and the other is rough sand paper it will require more force to pull the wax paper from under the heavy object.</div>]]></description>
