Jessica was a consummate professional and excellent fellow yesterday in the midst of a “bonkers” transplant service. While being assigned to general and KLP, she was willing to see 8 new transplant consults (plus others with Bilal) as Bilal saw all existing patients on their services and I saw all the existing transplant patients (16) and 3 new consults on my own. We ended doing 5 kidney transplants in less than 24hrs, in part because of her excellent care.

She made me proud to be part of this team and the future of nephrology!

I am so appreciative of the care that the two nephrology fellows on service at HMC, Josh Earl and Bang Zheng, provided for our patients. Josh stayed late on Friday evening to be part of a family meeting about why outpatient dialysis was not an option for one of our patients nearing the end of life. I am so appreciative of the care that the two nephrology fellows on service at HMC, Josh Earl and Bang Zheng, provided for our patients. Bang was incredibly helpful managing some of our more complex patients with ESKD. We had one patient get a tunneled line infection requiring a line holiday. During his line holiday he got incredibly hypertensive requiring a nitro gtt and Bang was able to arrange for multiple days of HD in a row once he got durable access to compensate his volume status. I was just on the MICU service, and I really appreciate that the fellows came to the team rooms to talk about patients. The communication was better than any of the other consulting teams, and my residents told me the renal fellows were the best at this.
