Too many parents and grandparents whose children and grandchildren are constantly connected to music players, cellphones, video games consoles.<br>2. This technological divide has created a new generation gap. <br>3. Many of the young people who have grown up in a tech savvy worl do not have the same level of emotional skills of those 10 or more years ago.<br>4. 8-10 years old spend over seven hours a day using entertainment media.<br>5. They are not exercising meeting with friends talking with family on negotiating in-person relationships.<br>6. They are often mentally absent with a group of friends of family.<br>7. Technology is taking over their family and children's lives</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>group 5 (Wei Wen, Tanisha, An Qi, Jadelle, Janelle)<br>positive points:<br>1) By socially networking we can fulfil our need to communicate and share our news in one hit with all of our contacts across the world 24/7 and obtain a comprehensive snapshot of what they are up to at any given time.<br><br>negative points:<br>1) Millions of Britons are losing valuable sleep each night due to social networking. <br>2) When people don't get enough sleep, long term memory is being effected.<br>3) Social networking is doing what it's invented for - grabbing peoples attention and making them addicted. Respondents has stated that the last thing they do before they sleep is to check their phone for text messages and the first thing they do before they get out of bed is to check and respond to any texts that have come through the night.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Positive Impacts: <br>1) Social support to positive mental health <em>(With social media, you will have more 'online friends', so you have both 'physical friends' and 'online friends')</em><br>2) It offers us an instant audience and attention<em>(If you post something on social media, people who are online will get to see, so you will almost instantaneously have an audience.)<br></em>3) It offers us the luxury of easily keeping in touch <em>(At any point in time, you can just message/email/dm them, instead of the traditional methods such as snail mail,etc.)<br></em>Negative Impacts:<br>1) It has negative emotional impacts<em>(You will be subject to online trolls due to your face features, skin colours, etc.  When attacked by trolls, many people will feel very discouraged, with some having suicidal thoughts.)<br></em>2) People with fewer social relationships die earlier<em>(Despite the presence of online friends, it still cannot replace the care put into you be your true physical friends.  Thus, it will lead to loneliness, which will lead to further consequences such as chronic conditions and death)</em></div>]]></description>
