         <description><![CDATA[<div>Thomas Paine was born on January 29, 1737 in Thetford, England. When he was 12 years old he failed out of school and failed at working with his dad. In 1774 he became friends with Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin helped Thomas Paine emigrate to America in 1774. In 1776, Thomas Paine he began working as a journalist. He is known for his writings. He died on June 8, 1809 in New York. </div>]]></description>
