         <description><![CDATA[<div>Artiosense seeks to alleviate challenges in current orthopedic and sports medicine surgeries among others in the future. Currently, a percentage of patients who undergo major orthopedic surgery such as total knee and or total hip replacement, unfortunately, experience premature implant failure and must undergo complicated revision surgeries. With patients who are younger and more active, it’s become essential that their implants be able to sustain higher stresses and provide longevity. Artiosense, a spin-out of the University of Cambridge, has developed a microfluid-based force sensor to aid in the correct and precise placement of a surgical implant. This is achieved by identifying correct measurements and the balancing of forces passing through weight-bearing joints thus minimizing implant failures.&nbsp;<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div>In my opinion, I think the idea is fantastic especially in my specialty, where I get to see and do these types of surgeries daily. This technology would be a great asset to our department to be able to provide a heightened level of care to our patients, thus minimizing their risk of a potential implant failure. Preventing a return to surgery is a tremendous relief for patients. It not only reduces their stress and anxiety levels, but it also increases their quality of life; not only for them but for their loved ones as well.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

I usually do what needs to be done without being told and when I do focus on finishing a task, I immerse myself in my work. I am more often than not, in a cheerful disposition and always have a positive outlook in life, because of this type of energy, people tend to follow me. I remain calm in the face of unexpected changes, obstacles, or challenges. I truly just roll with the punches and just let it be and make the best of it! I also do learn from past experiences, positives or negatives, and then apply then to current situations and being able to find solutions to a problem is fascinating to me. <br><br>&nbsp;<br><br><br><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>
