The united states senate left this sunday one step from confirming the ultra conservative judge Amy Coney Barrett who was nominated by president Donald trump to fill the supreme court vacancy left from the death of the progressive judge ruth Bader Ginbsburg.
51 votes are in favor and 48 against, the majority republican senate approved a motion that iniciates a 30 hour count down until the final vote on Barrett.
It is expected that the vote will take place on the senate floor in the late afternoon on Monday, and
 
El Senado de Estados Unidos quedó este domingo (25.10.2020) a un paso de confirmar a la jueza ultraconservadora Amy Coney Barrett, nominada por el presidente, Donald Trump, para cubrir la vacante que dejó en el Tribunal Supremo la fallecida magistrada progresista Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Por 51 votos a favor y 48 en contra, la mayoría republicana del Senado aprobó una moción que inicia una cuenta atrás de 30 horas hasta la votación final sobre Barrett.
Se espera que ese voto se produzca en el pleno del Senado a última hora de la tarde del lunes, y está previsto que salga adelante, por lo que la jueza podría incorporarse al Supremo este mismo lunes o el martes, a una semana de la elección presidencial.
