The bilingualism of pupils who speak a language other than that of the school must be valued to allow them to find their place in the classroom"
This article stressed the challenge for students and what teachers, schools, and parents can do to help in these circumstances. The "challenge" for teachers in mainstream classrooms would be researching students' backgrounds and the languages they speak. Also incorporating culture in the classroom.
