         <description><![CDATA[<div>               Spiral Theory<br>- Starts with free-flow play, which allows them to lead or create a game and explore for themselves.<br>- When the child is ready, the teacher to help guide the child to new ideas and ways of playing.<br>- Teacher uses adult-led play to teach and guide and then lets the child continue using child-led play with what they have been taught.<br>- This can include things like providing experiences and materials the child can use in their child-led play.<br>                  Positives<br>- Children will get the correct balance of child-led and adult-led play to develop their play and ideas. <br>- The child and adult will have more time together, allowing them time to bond and create healthy attachments.<br>- Children will be able to explore their interests and skills.<br>                Negatives<br>- The children may become confused with the constant change from adult-led to child-led, and a lot of influence from the adult could cause the child-led play to not be fully child-led.<br>- The adult-led activities can be very time consuming which may be hard for a child to concentrate on for a long period of time. This can also take vital time out of the day for practitioners.<br>     How can this theory can be supportive in early years settings?<br>- Through the use of free-flow play the practitioners can assess where the children are at in terms of stages of development and play, therefore being able to guide the children further using adult-led play to help them achieve developmental milestones they may struggle in. <br>- Settings can use this theory in their daily planning of the day using the structure related to it.<br>- Using this theory, practitioners can easily see what stage of development a child is at.<br><br></div>]]></description>
