Yes, teachers absolutely SHOULD know basic Tier 1 strategies. However, if they need help, I think we should be their resource. It is, after all, reducing our workload in the long run. We are supporting learning by supporting teachers. 

Literally, right before the pandemic hit, we did a 4-day cognitive coaching workshop with Ochan Kusuma Powell. It was required for LS and EAL teachers, knowing that we would be helping classroom teachers along. It was quite awesome and empowering.

For example, if a group of teachers is planning for a unit, and they are going to show a video, I want to be able to ask them - without fear of being seen as a "busybody" or what-not - if they've considered EAL kids, or students with auditory processing difficulties or even students with focusing difficulties. Are there subtitles? Can they watch the video later?
