  • Siddhartha quickly proves himself to be a dedicated student, mastering the Samanas' rigorous practices of fasting, meditation, and self-denial.
  • However, Siddhartha eventually becomes disillusioned with the Samanas' teachings and begins to feel that their asceticism is not leading him to the spiritual enlightenment he seeks.
