         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; September 21, 1942<br>   It is my first day at the internment camp. They brought us here and expect us to know what to do. We were brought here and forced to leave our homes and live here. It makes no sense to bring us to a internment camp when we haven't done anything. If it's for safety measures than they should be worrying about our safety too! We are American citizens just as everybody else are.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, they sent us here. They believed that we were actually spies from Japan. Even if we were spies from Japan, what would we have done at the moment.          <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;December 29, 1942<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;Since we started work int he camp we've been growing used to the camp. The food grosses me out, but it's edible. I wish we didn't have to come here though. If I could've stayed in Minnesota I would have been married by now.&nbsp; But when I do come home we will get married.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;I've made a couple of friends here already. They are kind of cool, and we all live in Minnesota. We met when we were in line to get our work clothes on the first day. We stay here because the Americans are scared of us. They know that we are still part Japanese. That we could be trading information about the military with their enemies. To make safety measures so they won't be attacked again.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;This was another day of disappointment. The food tasted like trash.          <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; September 7, 1945<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;If you remember our last exchange, then you will understand what I'm about to say. I have escaped the internment camp. It was a hard journey and took me a few months but I made it! If you hear a loud "klunk" noise outside, just know that it's me. It will take me at least a week more to get to the house.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp;Ever since I went to the camp, I've been wondering what'll be awaiting me. If I would die lonely and by myself. Or if someone would get me out of here but now that I'm out here I know my answer. I as planning on waiting until the end of the camp.          <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; September 11, 1945<br>It will take me less than 3 days until I am at the house. Since I escaped, I met more than 14 people who are complete strangers to me. They all helped me get through the state and now I'm very close. Even though I'm a stranger to them they still helped me. I would like to repay their gratitude one day if I could.<br>&nbsp; This takes me back to the day before I escaped. I already left that morning but only people that I shared the apartment with knew that I escaped. If it wasn't for them, then I wouldn't be here right now.
