Paper Notes vs Computer Notes

I chose this video because it is actually something I have thought about in class. I take notes on paper but sometimes I can't keep up, but it feels harder to take notes on the computer. This video laid out the pros and cons of both. It was helpful because I learned that writing paper notes helps students remember more and write less in all. However, the main idea was that both are good options as long as you actually learn the concepts and don't just write a transcript of the lecture.

Taking Notes From Books

I chose this video because I have been having to take notes from biology, american history and psychology textbooks. It's hard for me and I feel like I write too much. I liked the advice because I hadn't even thought to do things like annotate my books with symbols. That will be very helpful because it will give me a place to start with my notes. I also have been taking notes as I read but it would make sense to actually do it after I've read it all. I really will start doing that. Finally, writing my own opinions was a great piece of advice and I will also start doing that.

I chose this video because I take a lot of notes and I want to take less but keep the important things. I thought this video would tell me how to pick out the main ideas and help me figure out what I can leave out. It was actually a video on shorthand! So that was not as useful because I do not want to learn how to write in shorthand or put in the time needed to make my own. I think that the two articles I look up will have to do with figuring out what is important enough to write in notes and what to leave out, because that's what I thought this video was about.
